Taylor Swift is the latest celebrity to jump on the political bandwagon...
And she has stirred up a whole load of controversy in the process.
via: GettyThe country singer recently leant her voice to a political advert that endorses Joe Biden, just days before the highly-anticipated election.
But, while she merely sang over the ad...
via: GettyMany are finding her politically-drive lyrics to be somewhat problematic.
Now, the country singer is usually a beloved figure in the world of music.
via: Getty ImagesTaylor released her self-titled debut album in 2006 and received a whole array of positive reviews from music critics, including a glowing piece by The New York Times, who describing it as "a small masterpiece of pop-minded country, both wide-eyed and cynical, held together by Ms. Swift's firm, pleading voice."
The album sold 39,000 copies in its first week.
via: Getty ImagesNot a bad job for an eighteen-year-old newbie writing her own material, right?
But her second album was the one that really blew up for her.
via: Getty ImagesWith hits like "Love Story" and "White Horse", Taylor found herself being propelled to superstardom and the album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.
And fast forward ten years, she has now achieved accolades that only artists dream about.
via: Getty ImagesIMDB describes Swift as "a multi-Grammy award-winning American singer/songwriter who, in 2010 at the age of 20, became the youngest artist in history to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. In 2011 Swift was named Billboard's Woman of the Year. She also has been named the American Music Awards Artist of the Year, as well as the Entertainer of the Year for both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, among many other accolades. As of this writing, she is also the top-selling digital artist in music history."
It's safe to say that she has truly cemented herself as a legend within the industry.
via: Getty ImagesThere were, of course, a few bumps in the road, but she became a source of inspiration for other young women trying to get into the industry with their own content.
However, where there is good, there is always bad.
via: Getty ImagesThe journey wasn't an easy one, and Swift hardly discussed the dark side of the business until very recently.
The headlines about her started becoming more and more negative because of his actions.
via: YouTubeAs time passed, no matter how popular Taylor was, she quickly became one of the most hated artists on our screens and was subjected to immense torment by the media.
But you know what they say: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
But in fact, it did the complete opposite.
And this week, she has become the subject of scrutiny and criticism once more.
via: GettyAs stated earlier, Swift, a loud and proud Democrat, provided the soundtrack to the latest Joe Biden enforcement advert.
Swift wrote the song herself...
via: GettyBut her lyrics have seriously divided opinions.
Of course, Biden supporters have been quick to praise Swift's contribution to the ad...

But, on the other hand, Republicans have been left furious at her endorsement...
via: FacebookAnd have taken to Facebook in full force to voice their disgust.
So, just how bad are her lyrics?
via: TwitterFor starters, Swift's lyrics address the troubling events from the past 4 years - mass shootings, children being separated from their parents at the border, civil unrest, Trump's maskless defiance - all juxtaposed with images of new hope and leadership.
Taylor sings along with the heartbreaking images:
via: Twitter"They aren't going to help us... too busy helping themselves... they aren't going to change this... we've got to do it ourselves."
The message is clear.
