A teen recently reported her teacher after he refused to let her go to the bathroom when she started her period during class.

What happened to him after the report was made revealed some other shocking details...

The incident left people outraged, with many even sharing advice on how they would have dealt with it...

Posting to Reddit, in the "Am I An A**hole?" section, the young girl outlined what took place during the lesson.

She first explained that the school has rules that state students must privately ask their teacher if they want to go to the bathroom and they have strict rules in order to uphold the quality of classes from home.

She said she had "absolutely no issue with these rules as I understand that online teaching is hard and you have to make sure everyone is attentive during classes."

But her teacher was only making her life more difficult by not empathizing with her needs.

She said this:

"On Thursday, I had a math class which was taught by 'Mr. T'. He's never really been very strict and had always seemed quite reserved and quiet. Of course, I've never been in a lesson with him outside of online school so I can't really judge."

She continued:

"During the class I realized I had started my period. I privately messaged Mr. T asking if I could use the restroom."

But he wasn't replying, so she continued messaging him.

"I waited for 10 minutes but he didn't reply so I messaged him again, still no reply. By now I was getting extremely uncomfortable so I texted him for the third time explaining I had started my period and I really had to go."

His response was shocking...

"He replies with this, 'You should have planned better. Learn to control yourself' Uhhh… What?"

Typical of an ignorant man to tell a girl to "control her period" when it's physically impossible.

She tried to explain to her teacher that she couldn't control her period and it was becoming more and more uncomfortable to sit with it, but he stopped responding completely.

So she did what she had to do - she went to the bathroom.

"I got annoyed and switched off my camera anyways and left to the bathroom. Once I came back, I saw that he had kicked me out of the meeting."

"I later found out he had written me up for switching off my camera and I was given a warning. I was p*ssed."

Girl, I would be too.

So, the girl complained about his behavior and later found out that she wasn't the only student having problems with this particular teacher.

"Today... I found out, through my mother, who is also a teacher that Mr. T is being investigated as there have been multiple complaints about his behavior and mine was apparently the last straw."

But even more shockingly, the response from the male members of her family guilt-tripped her into feeling terrible about reporting him.

"My dad, brother and few of my friends are calling me and an a**hole as I could've just waited for a while instead of complaining and potentially making a man lose his job, especially during this time.

"I don't know. I'm feeling really guilty now."

First things first: This young girl has nothing to feel guilty about.

The fact that this teacher is triple her age and still doesn't understand how a period works is beyond me. And secondly, the lack of empathy and guilt-tripping from the other males around her is absolutely despicable.

Thankfully the comments in the thread provided her with the support she needed.

But yet again, this points to one problem.

The education system is a complete and utter failure if it doesn't teach people about these issues early on. Then they go through life being these ignorant and unempathetic beings when they're faced with situations such as this one and it leads to even bigger problems.

Educate yourself. And if you're still ignorant when presented with the information... Grow up.
