Plus-size model Tess Holliday has come back with the perfect response to a woman who told her that she needs to lose weight.
Now, when you’re in the public eye, it seems as though you’re weight is always something people like to pick apart more than anything.

And, no matter how iconic Tess is to the world, there’s always that one person who slips through those who adore her and says something they really don’t have the right to say.
In this case, a woman made a comment about the weight Tess apparently needs ‘to lose’.

And, she’s responded in a 2-minute long video on Instagram, which was captioned: “I don’t often give myself enough credit, & my energy this year is very much to cut that sh*t out. Going to the doctor & dealing with someone body-shaming me was apparently my tipping point lol, not sorry.”
In the video, she recalled experiencing an older woman body-shaming her while sitting in the doctor’s waiting room…

“This woman was seated a couple of seats away from me, she was a little bit more mature and she says ‘you are so pretty, you have a beautiful face and your beautiful hair’ and I mean I look like this and my face is covered but I’m like ‘oh you know thank you,'” she said.
“She then proceeded to tell me ‘why don’t you just lose a bit of weight?’ I’m no stranger to this, it happens often, but usually when someone says something like this to me because I have deeply seeded trauma and people-pleasing tendencies I usually say something to kind of placate their diet talk and make them feel a little bit better,” she continued on.
But, she treats this situation differently, and she should.

“I looked at her, took a breath, and I said, and I still can’t believe I said this, look at me smiling I’m so proud of myself, I looked at her and I said ‘Ma’am I am one of the most famous plus-size models in the world, I think I’m doing ok,'” she explained in the video.
But, apparently, it meant nothing to the woman as she told Tess that she just “stops eating when I’m not hungry anymore,” Umm… good for you, we guess?

Can we make it a rule to just not comment on bodies that aren’t ours to comment on?
We are so proud of you for sticking up for what’s right, Tess!
