The state of Texas has decided that it's ready to return to normality and starting March 10th, the mask mandate will come to an end, and businesses in the area will be allowed to re-open with no capacity limits.
The controversial news comes after Governor Greg Abbott made a shocking announcement on Tuesday.

It all seems like a long time ago now, doesn't it? Our lives have been turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the past few months, we've been trying to return to normality...

While things are getting back to normal, we must still take precautions.
via: Getty ImagesThis is very important because we need to stop the spread of the virus.
In fact, some precautions are becoming mandatory in some places.

In some states, it has become mandatory to wear a face mask in public places.

For example, in some retail stores like Costco, customers are required to wear one. And on public transport.
Some people are choosing to wear a face-covering regardless.

But the issue that many people have discovered is how uncomfortable face masks can be.

Particularly when they are worn for a long period of time, but that's a small price to pay to keep the people around us safe.
But obviously, there has been an ongoing debate as to if they actually provide enough protection.
via: Getty ImagesThe world seems to be divided on the issue, with lots of people claiming that the masks are in fact only an accessory used to control the masses.
And that's why many are refusing to wear them.

Health experts have stressed their importance for those people that still don't get it.

A lot of people have decided to take on board these expert suggestions...

And it is now time to add the entire state of Texas to that list.
If Texas wasn't in a predicament already, this will surely help them get there. Recently, the governor of the state, Greg Abbott announced that he will be lifting the state-wide mandate on masks as well as re-opening all businesses at full capacity from March 10th.
Yes, literally in a matter of days.
And of course, people have had a lot to say about this shocking news.
On Tuesday, Abbott tweeted this:
I just announced Texas is OPEN 100%. EVERYTHING. I also ended the statewide mask mandate.— Greg Abbott (@Greg Abbott)1614716672.0
He actually thinks he's doing something amazing here.
The news comes after Abbott was warned by federal health professionals not to ease restrictions.
"To be clear, Covid has not, like, suddenly disappeared," Abbott said. "Covid still exists in Texas and the United States and across the globe."
But he also added that "state mandates are no longer needed."
Democratic leaders have reacted badly to the news, which is to be expected. Gilberto Hinojosa said: "What Abbott is doing is extraordinarily dangerous."
"This will kill Texans. Our country's infectious-disease specialists have warned that we should not put our guard down, even as we make progress towards vaccinations. Abbott doesn't care."
So far. 5.7 million Texans have been vaccinated.
