Founded in 1907, the Texas-based creamery has become widely popular with fans.

With flavors ranging from banana split sundae to cookie cake, it’s not surprising that the brand had garnered many fans. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

Back in 2019, the popular ice cream brand found itself at the center of a bizarre internet trend.

Pranksters were uploading clips of themselves licking tubs of the sweet treat and putting back. Ew. Keep scrolling to see the gross footage…

It all started when a video of this woman surfaced…

People couldn’t believe what she did.

But it gets even worse… she then put the ice cream back in the freezer, while an off-camera voice can be heard saying “lick it” followed by “put it back, put it back.” It seems like she got some friendly encouragement to pull the stunt.

Blue Bell’s limited edition Tin Roof flavor: vanilla ice cream with a chocolate fudge swirl and roasted peanuts dipped in dark chocolate. We knew you wanted to know.

Since being uploaded, it absolutely snowballed – hitting over eleven million views. Read on to watch the full video – you won’t believe how nasty it is…

People began tagging and tweeting the brand after seeing the video. And it seems like the company was certainly not amused by the woman’s ice cream-related antics.

In the statement, Blue Bell said that it’s working with “law enforcement, retail partners, and social media platforms” to find the perpetrator.
“This type of incident will not be tolerated. Food safety is a top priority, and we work hard to provide a safe product and maintain the highest level of confidence from our consumers.”

People were understandably furious.

Okay, the electric chair is definitely too far.

One user simply posted this image.

And it turns out that not everyone was disgusted with the footage, as several people started filming themselves doing the same thing. For example, this video showed a guy opening a tub of ice cream, scooping some out with his fingers, offering some to the person behind the camera who did the same, having some more himself, and then throwing it back in the fridge when he got nervous.

But it seems that one man who partook in the trend has landed himself in some serious trouble with the law.

The prankster – D’Adrien Anderson – was, as you’d probably guessed, filmed licking a tub of ice cream in Walmart.

The footage was filmed around 5 months ago and took place in the Port Arthur branch of Walmart in Texas.

But the store was still forced to throw out all of its Blue Bell ice cream as a precaution.

Law enforcement were less than impressed with the then twenty-four-year-old.

And the prankster eventually pleaded guilty to public mischief.

And faced some big consequences.

At one point Anderson was facing up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

The case was ongoing for months.

But finally a decision was made.

And it seemed like Anderson would pay for his mischief.

And was given 2 years probation for his Blue Bell stunt, NBC reported.

He was also required to pay a fine of $1,000…

And restitution of $1,565 to Blue Bell Creameries, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

The distress and hassle caused by the prank was enough to justify locking Anderson up for a little while, just to teach him a lesson.

His behavior was not tolerated…

And his punishment stands as an example to everyone else. “Anderson’s actions caused public concerns about the safety and quality of consumer products offered for public consumption, impacted Blue Bell consumer confidence and caused the company financial loss. This type of activity will not be tolerated,” the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office said.

However, it seems D’Adrien Anderson didn’t learn his lesson.

And now he’s in trouble again…

Back in January, Anderson was arrested for trespassing and his probation was revoked. According to the district attorney, he also failed to show up to probation meetings and pay his fees.

Now he’s looking at six months in jail for violating his probation…

On Thursday, a judge granted the motion to revoke the probation and Anderson will be required to serve 180 days in Jefferson County Jail. His bond has been set at $5,000.
