The Best Marvel Fight Scenes, Ranked | 22 Words

If you haven't yet seen Avengers: Endgame yet, quick question. Who are you? (Don't say Star-Lord.) And also, there are a couple of Endgame spoilers in this article, so get excited for some good fight scenes I guess!

And for those of you in the rest of the world, how good were those fight scenes, right? We're not here just for Endgame though. We're breaking down our Top 10 MCU fight scenes. 22 movies, probably hundreds of fights, but you're getting the top ten. Because who has time to watch 46 hours of Marvel movies (like I did)?

My eyeballs are tired, my brain is sugared, my belly is popcorned. So let's just get into it and break down our picks for the Top 10 fight scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No more dilly-dallying. Grab some popcorn or a soft pretzel, dim the lights, and get set for the most epic fights Marvel has to offer.

Let's start with something fun. And to do that, we're going intergalactic.

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the better MCU movies, but it's not exactly known for its incredible fight scenes.

Though this moment was certainly unforgettable.

Thank Odin that Groot is back and better than ever. Will we see full-grown Groot for Asgardians of the Galaxy?

And since we needed to include it, we thought this 'battle' would be our #10.

Yes, please. More of this from Chirs Pratt. I mean we all knew he was god-like, but this is when we got confirmation that Chris Pratt is just a god.

Next, we're moving onto a team-up movie.

Because team-up movies are the best movies. Except Age of Ultron. Age of Ultron sucks.

No, for #9 we thought we'd pick something a little more fun.

You know, like a good ol' Avengers vs Avengers battle royale.

That's right, for #9 we're going with the Airport Battle in Captain America: Civil War.

Oh hi, Spider-Man. This was just so much dang fun. I was grinning from ear to ear watching my favorite heroes battle it out.

Moving right along!

Next up, we're going back to Cap. We can't say no to America's Ass! We just can't!

This time, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Can you guess which one we're talking about? And no, it doesn't involve Cap trying to ground a helicopter with his bicep.

Our pick for #8 is the coolest scene ever filmed in an elevator.

Not gonna lie, I kind of wanted a repeat of this in Endgame, but the moment we got was even better.

Our pick for #7 might surprise people.

And it's actually pretty similar to our #8 pick.

Another Avengers vs Avengers battle.

This time taking place at the beginning of Avengers.

#7. Thor vs Captain America and Iron Man.

Yes. To all of this. This is the first time Iron Man really got his butt kicked, and it was freaking awesome.

Okay, I'm done with team-ups for a sec. Back to solo movies!

How about an origin story, even? There are so many good ones, from MCU upstart Iron Man to the non-origin story Spider-Man: Homecoming.

But no, we're pulling a wild card and going with Dr. Strange.

Yeah, we know. Why don't people talk about this movie anymore? I guess it's probably because Dr. Strange is kind of a boring character... But the fight scenes were great!

So! Our #6 pick is this Inception-style fight from Dr. Strange.

Seeing this in IMAX 3D was awesome. It was like all the best parts of Marvel and Inception and Harry Potter rolled into one massive fight scene, and we're here for it.

Halfway to number 1. We're in the endgame now.

Except not literally. We're saving Endgame for later.

No, instead, for this one, we're going back to outer space.

Because everything is better with space. Maybe grab a pair of old-school headphones and a walkman for this one. A walkman that can play YouTube videos.

#5. Yondu's prison break from Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.

The cinematography, the humor, the music, that arrow thing. What's not to love? Plus, after what happens to Yondu at the end of the movie, this moment is extra special.

You thought we weren't going to Wakanda? You thought wrong!

Black Panther brought us some of our favorite moments from the MCU, so we've got to have a massive fight in the back half of this list.

But we're not going for any weird CGI trains or Kendrick Lamar set car chases.

Nope, for our #4 pick, we're going for something more traditional.

#4. T'Challa vs M'Baku.

It's. So. Cool. Director Ryan Coogler shows off all the things he learned directing Creed for this awesome scene, and it really works.

It's getting to the end. The picks are getting harder. The fight scenes are getting cooler.

And for our #3 pick, we're going old-school.

Back when the MCU was just a glimmer in Nick Fury's only good eye.

That's right, for our #3 pick, we're going with a classic.

#3. Iron Man escapes that dusty-ass cave.

I think this was the moment all Marvel fans felt something special was about to happen. This is definitely the moment I went from, "I don't want to see that new Iron Man movie" to "holy shit, when can we see that again?"

Let me preface this next pick by saying recency bias is a thing.

Number 1 and number 2 were extremely hard to pick, and I tried my best to be impartial for the people of this fine website.

But I may have failed.

Because my #2 pick is really the fight scene that made all this Avengers nonsense real in the first place.

#2. The Battle of New York from Avengers.

Hearing that Avengers theme with the full orchestra for the first time was absolutely incredible. I got goose-bumps, and I still do when I rewatch it. It's awesome and I love it, and it's #2 for a reason.

So where does that leave us for #1?

Well I'm sure you all guessed it, and I'm sure you're all still just as hyped as I was when I walked out of the theater this weekend.

#1. The Final Battle from Avengers: Endgame.

We don't have any real footage for it, but that's okay because if you're anything like me, you probably want to run to your nearest theater to rewatch the last hour of that movie.

Specifically the Cap & Thor vs Thanos battle.

When Cap batted his shield at Thano's face using Mjölnir (Thor's hammer), I almost died. What do you think? Did we get these in the right order? Did we miss any of your favorites? Let us know!
