Here’s All the Movies and Shows Coming to Disney+ When It Launches | 22 Words

It seems to be streaming madness at the moment. NBC has announced a bunch of reboots for its new service, Apple TV + is launching soon, and now Disney's new streaming platform has dropped its full list of shows and movies.

Launching November 12, Disney + will be competing with the likes of the streaming giant, Netflix, which remains firmly at the top of the deck, rising star, Hulu, and of course, the slew of other streaming services launching in the coming months, to bring us a whole host of Disney content.

From old childhood classics and nostalgic TV shows to modern live-action movies and of course, lots of Marvel, Disney + is looking to be shaping up nicely.

Aladdin

Kicking off the lineup is no other than Disney classic, Aladdin. The movie tells the story of Aladdin and his adventures along with his fiancé Princess Jasmine, his pet monkey Abu, Magic Carpet, Iago the greedy parrot, and of course, his best friend the Genie.

Alice in Wonderland (1951) & Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Based on the fantasy tale by Lewis Caroll, Alice in Wonderland follows Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole, and enters a magical world called Wonderland. Disney are also adding the 2010 live-action rendition of this classic, created by Tim Burton, so viewers have the choice of both.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Naturally, Disney has also opted to add the 2016 sequel Alice Through The Looking Glass so viewers won't be short of wonderland-related content to binge on.

Avengers: Endgame

Marvel fans will be pleased to hear that the fantasy franchise hasn't been left out of the running. One of the most exciting additions is the widely-anticipated Avengers: Endgame. Coming in at a whopping 3 hours running time, your weekend is well and truly sorted.

Beauty and the Beast (1991) & Beauty and the Beast (2017)

Once again, the Hollywood studio is opting to add both the original animated classic along with its modern, live-action counterpart. Beauty and the Beast centers on a headstrong village girl named Belle, who falls in love with a prince who has been cursed and made into a hideous beast by an evil enchantress.

Bridge to Terabithia

Bridge to Terabithia tells the story of Jesse and Leslie who create an imaginary world called Terabithia, which is inhabited by a whole host of magical creatures.

Camp Rock

Starring Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers (aka the epitome of childhood), the movie tells the story of a teenage girl who desperately wants to spend her summer in a rock camp, but the only way she can get in is by working in the kitchen. But, everything changes when a teen pop star overhears her singing.

Captain America: Civil War

Back to the MCU, and the next addition is no other than Captain America: Civil War. Political involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between superheroes, Captain America and Iron Man.

Captain Marvel

Next up is another exciting movie. Hitting screens just this year, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel is joining the lineup for the Hollywood studio's streaming service.

Christopher Robin

Doctor Dolittle

Freaky Friday (2003)

Let's be honest, Freaky Friday is nostalgia central. The remake of the '76 version stars Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis as the leading ladies in the wacky tale, which sees the pair wake up to realize they've switched bodies.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 & 2

Marvel fanatics will be thrilled to hear that both Guardians of the Galaxy movies will be hitting the upcoming streaming platform. Can we just say how excited we are for Vol 3?

High School Musical 1, 2 & 3

Okay, this is not a drill. Disney is dropping all 3 High School Musical movies and we honestly couldn't think of a better way to spend the weekend.

Hocus Pocus

As we approach the spooky season, we're pretty excited to hear that Disney is adding Hocus Pocus to the lengthy catalog of content. The Halloween-classic follows teenager, Max, who accidentally frees a coven of evil witches.

Lady and the Tramp

Lady and the Tramp tells the story of a female American Cocker Spaniel named Lady who lives with an upper-middle-class family, and a male stray called the Tramp who fall madly in love.

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody & The Suite Life on Deck

Once again, there's another Disney Channel classic coming to screens. Both the Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck, starring Dylan and Cole Sprouse are heading our way.

Iron Man

Lilo and Stitch

There's no doubt that Lio and Stitch is an underrated gem in the Disney catalog, which is why we're so pleased to see it added to the lineup. The movie tells the story of  Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch, who actually turns out to be a genetic experiment that has escaped from an alien planet.

Monsters, Inc.

The Pixar animation centers on 2 monsters named James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and his 1-eyed partner and best friend Mike Wazowski, who work for Monsters Incorporated - a company that powers the monster city through scaring children.

Monsters University

The prequel to Monsters Inc is also in the lineup. Released in 2013, the movie chronicles Mike and Sulley and their time studying at college, where they start off as arch-rivals, but slowly become best friends.

Peter Pan

The magical adventure follows the 3 siblings of the Darling family, who are visited by Peter Pan one night. Peter, who's a boy who magically never ages, invites them to Neverland, an island where he lives with the Lost Boys...but disaster strikes when Captain Hook kidnaps the family.

Pinocchio

Based on the Italian children's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, the movie tells the story of an old wood-carver named Geppetto who carves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio. One night, over a shooting star, Geppetto wishes for his puppet to become a real boy, and his wish is granted when the puppet is brought to life by a blue fairy, who tells him that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be "brave, truthful, and unselfish."

Pocahontas

Loosely based on the life of the Native American woman of the same name, Pocahontas, centers on a fictionalized account of her historical encounter with Englishman John Smith and the Jamestown settlers that arrived from the Virginia Company.

Mary Poppins

The revolutionary movie, which featured a combination of live-action and animation, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, tells the story of a magical nanny named Mary Poppins, who is hired by the Banks family to look after their 2 children, Jane and Michael.

Mary Poppins Returns

Of course, Disney has also added the Emily Blunt-fronted 2018 sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, which sees the mystical nanny resurface to come to the aid of Michael Banks, whom she has looked after as a child, and has just been told that his house will be repossessed in 5 days unless he can pay back a loan.

Saving Mr. Banks

Keeping with the Mary Poppins theme, Disney is also throwing in the biographical prequel, Saving Mr Banks, which tells the real-life story of author, P.L. Travers, who wrote the Mary Poppins story, and Walt Disney, in his 20-year pursuit to gain the movie rights for the tale.

Kim Possible

Next up is animated series, Kim Possible, which chronicles the adventures of Kim Possible, who looks like an average high-school cheerleader, but in her spare time, she fights supervillains.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie

Let's be honest, this is a classic '90s kid movie. Iconic doesn't even come close. The movie follows Lizzie McGuire (Hilary Duff) and her closest pals as they head off on a school-sponsored trip to Rome during summer break.

Tangled

Based on the classic tale of Rapunzel, the Disney animation tells the story of (you guessed it) Princess Rapunzel, who, after receiving the healing powers from a magical flower, is kidnapped from the palace in the middle of the night as a baby by Mother Gothel. The princess is then locked in a tower by who she now believes is her mother, that is, until a runaway thief stumbles upon her.

Wreck-it Ralph

Next up we've got Wreck-it Ralph, the animated video-game themed adventure that tells the story of Ralph, a video game villain who is sick of being the bad guy and sets out to fulfill his dream of being a hero, landing himself in a candy-coated cart racing game.

The Emperor's New Groove

The Emperor's New Groove follows a self-centered Incan emperor, Kuzco, who is transformed into a llama by his ex-advisor, Yzma. In order for him to be able to change back into a human, he enlists the help of a village leader named Pacha, who escorts him back to the palace.

Sleeping Beauty

Evil witch Maleficent curses Princess Aurora to die on her sixteenth birthday. But, thanks to Aurora's guardian fairies, she only falls into a deep sleep that can be lifted by true love, Prince Phillip. 

Zootopia

Moana

The Jungle Book (1967) & The Jungle Book (2016)

Viewers will have the choice of watching both the original and live-action Jungle Book, which tells the story Mowgli, who has been raised by a pack of wolves since birth. But, he must leave the only home he's ever known when the fearsome tiger, Shere Khan, threatens his survival.

The Lion King (1994)

Amid all the buzz surrounding Disney's new live-action Lion King, the original 1994 classic will be heading to the streaming service.

The Parent Trap (1998)

Toy Story 1, 2 & 3

Wall-E

But, when a very lonely Wall-E spots EVE, a probe sent back to Earth on a scanning mission, he becomes smitten and embarks on an intergalactic adventure.  If you haven't sobbed while watching this movie, you're not okay.

101 Dalmatians (1996)

Starring acting legend Glenn Close, the live-action version of Disney's 101 Dalmatians, tells the story of the evil Cruella De Vil who stumbles upon a litter of adorable dalmatian puppies and decides that their skins will make her the perfect new coat. But don't worry, those who prefer the classic version will be pleased to know Disney is also adding the original 1961 animated movie as well as spin-offs, 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch’s London Adventure and 102 Dalmatians.

Phineas and Ferb

Even Stevens

A pre-Transformers Shia Labeouf takes center stage in this hilarious comedy series that centers on a seventh-grade misfit as he tries to make his way through the trials and tribulations of school and his seemingly "perfect" family.

10 Things I Hate About You

Transforming William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew," into a late '90s high school setting, the rom-com tells the story of a pretty, popular teenager who can't start dating until her older sister gets a boyfriend.

Big Hero 6

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Finally, we've got the hit series, That's So Raven.  The comedy follows the life of Raven Baxter who can see glimpses of the future and subsequently enlists the help of her friends to change small bits of future events. "I just had a vision!"
