The Himalayan Monal.
This gorgeous bird has become popular over the years for one distinct feature...
It's breathtaking plumage.
It is the beautiful combination of hues in the male species of the Himalayan monal that has earned it the nickname, “nine-colored bird."
The colors can range from blacks, metallic greens and blues, purples, light yellows, browns, and reds.
Meanwhile, their copper-colored tail feathers, which are uniformly rufous, become darker toward the tips.
They really are the most breathtaking creatures.
Though, as their namesake suggests, they are native to the Himalayas, so you may have to do some traveling to see one for yourself.
