There are so many reasons to love America, from the Fourth of July, Oprah Winfrey, and some of the greatest sights on the planet… just to name a few!

However, PEOPLE have announced that the number one reason to love the land of the free and home of the brave is none other than the “The Rock” himself.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is such a huge part of everyone’s lives.

Johnson is an actor, producer, former professional wrestler, and former American and Canadian football player… oh, and he is also regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
His most recent accolade includes being the top choice on PEOPLE’s list of 100 Reasons to Love America.

He comes from a long line of wrestlers, with his dad being a pioneer for African-American wrestling in the ’60s and ’70s.

An honorary member of the Anoa’i family and the son of wrestler Rocky Johnson, the beloved actor secured a contract with WWE in 1996.
In 2004, he left the WWE to pursue an acting career but returned in 2011 as a part-time performer until 2013 and made sporadic appearances until retiring in 2019.
He is a 10-time world champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a five-time Tag Team Champion, and WWE’s sixth Triple Crown champion.

Johnson’s first leading acting role was in The Scorpion King in 2002…

And since then, he has starred in many successful films including The Game Plan, Hercules, San Andreas, Moana, Baywatch, and the recent remakes of the Jumanji films.
In 2020, Dwayne Johnson unveiled the cast of his upcoming NBC series, Young Rock, which is inspired by his “wild and unpredictable childhood and formative years.”
“This passion project is special and I’m boundless grateful to EVERYONE who is lending their talents, passion, love, and mana to bring it to life,” the star wrote on Instagram after revealing the cast.

The superstar’s unconventional journey to Hollywood has led him to become one of the highest-paid actors in the world.

“It feels great. I’ve been a lucky guy over the years to have the career that I’ve been blessed enough to have,” Johnson told PEOPLE.
Over the last year, Johnson became especially appreciative of his “blessed” life with his wife Lauren Hashian, with which he shares 2 daughters – Jasmine and Tia. He also has a nineteen-year-old daughter with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
“It was a shakeup for us,” the actor admitted about the lockdown, “I did this weird thing every day where I still got up and got dressed like I was getting ready to go someplace. I mean, shoes and all. That helped me psychologically. From a relationship and marriage standpoint, you realize you have to really be attentive to your reactions and responses because your patience capacity starts to compress.”

Johnson told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview he’s had to learn “to have better patience”.

”I would marvel at Lauren. We would conduct [at-home school] classes; she would be the teacher, and I sat there crisscross applesauce with my daughters, and within five minutes I was like, ‘God, I am so tired.’ And my wife was going and going and going.”
And he insists he will never take his own blessings for granted. “The most important things are right in front of me,” Johnson adds. “I am in constant thank-you mode.”
