We all know Angus T. Jones as young Jake Harper in Two and a Half Men, but what really happened to him?
Now, everyone has a favorite child star they used to watch growing up...
But sadly, all too often, these child stars disappear when they get older and one of many child actors to go completely AWOL is Angus T. Jones.
Jones became a household name due to his adorable acting in the world-famous sitcom, Two and a Half Men.
He played Jake Harper, a young boy who moves in with his dad and uncle when his parents get divorced.
Jones did so well on the show, he even won a few awards for his work.
But then all of a sudden, Jones dropped off the face of the Earth. And people have been speculating what happened to the star...
Angus T. Jones found religion in 2010...
The actor did an interview back in 2012 discussing his beliefs, saying, "I started to really get into reading the Bible, and I started to look for a church to start going to... I heard some awesome sermons, got some good learning and stuff, but there wasn't anything that was really sticking out to me."
It wasn't until someone suggested he attend a Seventh-day Adventist Church that things took an extreme turn...
He was instantly hooked, "The message that the pastor was preaching that day was tailor-made for me."
"I just loved it. It was so great. It was so clear, too," he continued.
Jones even stuck to his new faith despite his family being against it, worried about "those cults." Although he "didn't feel like [he] was being fooled."
He argued, "It was there in the Bible. And there's no evidence for the opposing views."
Although Angus T. Jones finding God isn't a bad thing...
The problem came after he blasted his own sitcom the further he got into religion.
"If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men," the actor said in an interview.
He went on to tell fans to stop watching the show and "filling [their heads] with filth."
Jones carried on insulting his show in the interview, saying, "You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that."
However, Jones was quick to backtrack after his comments blew up...
And he even made a public statement apologizing to his coworkers.
He also acknowledged how "blessed" he was to have been on the show and was remorseful of his "lack of appreciation."
"It was making light of topics in our world that are really problems for a lot of people," Jones said about the sitcom.
"I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn't okay with it, but I was still doing it." So, he stopped and left the show.
Two and a Half Men did manage to incorporate his absence in the show.
Jones' character went away to Japan, and they even replaced him in Season eleven, with Amber Tamblyn, who played Charlie Sheen's daughter.
So you might be thinking, what did Jones do instead of acting in Two and a Half Men?
According to reports, he had a dream of creating "Bible-based stories" to share the word of God.
The young actor also went on to pursue higher education...
Jones attended the University of Colorado at Boulder in an environmental studies program.
He later changed his major to Jewish studies.
Jones appeared to be right where he wanted to be and was happier away from fame and fortune.
"I was very confident at that time," Jones told People in 2016. "Going to college was something I was really, really excited about." The child star wanted a "normal existence" in which he "wasn't the center of everyone's attention."
Despite all the drama that surrounded Angus T. Jones' and the sitcom, it seems he and the creators all on good terms...
"That's all water under the bridge," Chuck Lorre revealed to Variety, "He apologized shortly after [his comments]. We're on good terms."
He even went on to appear in the Two and a Half Men series finale.
After all the drama, Jones eventually ended up backing away from religion entirely...

"Over the last 3 years I've been involved with various faith-based organizations," Jones told People in 2016.
"Right now, I'm stepping away from the organizational business-model programs... I'm interested in seeing where I go without an organization putting a stamp of approval on if I'm good or bad or whatever."
He later admitted to the publication he felt very sure of himself back then.
He made it very clear that he was moving on.
"There's no changing anything," he explained, "There's only moving forward."
Though he wasn't totally done with acting...
He made a special appearance in Horace and Pete, a ten-part web series about 2 brothers who run a family bar.
His casting was for the small role was deliberate.
"He walked off of Two and a Half Men because he felt a moral conflict with the show," Louis C.K. said of Jones on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast.
"And I found that really fascinating, that somebody walks away from a huge job because he doesn't feel right about it. And that made me think about Horace and my show."
As for what he's up to now, we're not sure! He likes to keep things pretty private nowadays...
However, fans can rest easy knowing Jones is living happily in Los Angeles.
We wish him all the best!
