The World Will End Days Before Christmas According To Doomsday Expert | 22 Words

Sorry to break it to you, folks, but the Mayan Calendar has apparently issued a new prediction that the world will in fact be ending this year.

Just to add the cherry on top of the god awful cake 2020 has already been...

The Mayan Calander has made its fair share of ominous predictions...

 But, out of them all, perhaps the most infamous was their "end of the world" prophecy 8 whole years ago.

As most of you will probably recall, the Mayans came forward with a rather grim prediction for 2012.

 Doomsday theorists went crazy when the calendar - which is a system of calendars used in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica and in other modern communities in the Guatemalan highlands, Chiapas, and Mexico - announced that the world would be ending on December 21st, 2012.

Not very Christmassy, are they?

 But hey, even Christmas can't stop the end of the world.

The 2012 "end of the world" became somewhat of a phenomenon...

 And people all over the world braced themselves for their grizzly end.

The way in which the world would end wasn't specified in the calendar...

 But many speculated natural disasters such as a giant tidal wave, an Earth-wide earthquake, or a tremendous volcanic eruption.

And, of course, the huge asteroid plummeting into Earth was a popular theory, too.

 It's what wiped out the dinosaurs, right?

As the infamous date approached, tensions surrounding the end of the world rose...

And many people were genuinely preparing for the end, with some throwing doomsday parties and others stockpiling on supplies and building underground bunkers.

But, the 21st of December arrived...

And, guess what? The world didn't end after all!

Most of us breathed a sigh of relief and went on to enjoy our Christmas worry-free...

But the lack of asteroids, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes confused a lot of people, and they were left wanting answers. When is the end of the world?

Well, I'm afraid I have a little bit of bad news.

It has been revealed that the calendar actually predicted that the world will be ending this year instead of 2012. It's been nice knowing you all.

Now, I know what many of you will be thinking...

How on Earth could the ancient calendar get something so huge so drastically wrong? And why are we only hearing about this now?!

Well, it's all thanks to an Indiana church pastor.

 Pastor Paul Begley, who goes by the title "Prophecy Paul Begley" on his website, hosts weekly videos of the "Coming Apocalypse," and dedicates his work to uncovering prophecies and conspiracies.

His YouTube channel is adorned with hundreds of videos detailing outlandish conspiracy theories...

 But his recent upload could be his wildest yet.

In a video titled, "Breaking: "Solar Eclipse" End Of Days!!", Begley sits down to explain to us all how the Mayan's were wrong in 2012...

 And that the world will in fact be ending on December 21st, 2020, exactly 8 years on from their first prediction.

He released his video on June 21st, the day the Mayan's had recently said was the actual doomsday date...

And explained: "Of course, the Mayan elders said this could have been the end of the world today [21 June]. They might have made a mistake. Well, they obviously made a mistake on December 21, 2012, so they said maybe today would be the end of the world."

He then went on to reveal that the world will end this year...

 Just on the original date the Mayans had predicted, December 21st.

He explained:

 "December 21, 2020, during the great conjunction when Jupiter and Saturn come within 0.1 degrees of one another and create the brightest star in the skies since the star of Bethlehem." Totally legit, I know...

Begley insists that the Mayans have recognized their error.

 "Some of the Mayan elders, who were so big on the end of the world on December 21, which is my birthday, in the year 2012, they missed it. They’re now saying that they were 8 years off... It’s definitely going to be on my birthday, December 21, 2020, during the great conjunction."

However, Begley himself doesn't seem too convinced.

 "You got 2 shots at the apocalypse according to the Mayan calendar again. What?" Though he does keep reiterating that the doomsday date is his birthday... Maybe he's wanting some birthday love instead?
