With everything that's been happening in the news these days, it's easy to get discouraged with humanity as a whole. It seems that every day we hear about some new horrible story of violence, discrimination, or overall hatred, and the world only seems to get more and more divided as time goes on. Well, luckily for you, I've found 30 of them!

Your day is about to get much better. Oh, and much wetter. In fact, you might want to grab some tissues right now before you start scrolling because you will most likely be bawling by the time you get through this article. The following 30 examples of humans (most often, strangers) being kind of each other will thaw your dark, frozen heart.

These generous students

If you're convinced that the youth of today are completely spoiled and self-absorbed, watch this video. Seriously, who's cutting onions??

This touching gesture

While I'm sure this seemed like a very small thing to this Mom at the time, it's everyday acts of kindness and generosity like this that make the biggest impact. We should all strive to be more like this woman.

This awesome dog walker

When you're out of work, every day can feel like a terrifying struggle to get by. Jon the Dog Walker probably has no idea what how much this gesture meant. Kudos to you, sir.

This thoughtful professor

Everyone deserves to have a place to go where they feel loved and accepted during the holidays. Sometimes, chosen families are the best type of families.

This heroic driver

This man's quick thinking and bravery probably saved this person's life. I'm pretty sure my response to this wouldn't be anywhere near as courageous.

This heartwarming gift

It's awful to think about all the homeless dogs and cats who never experience this type of kindness. I have to admit, I gave my own spoiled pup a big hug after watching this.

This tear-jerker of a story

This rowing instructor was the perfect person to find this note. Who else can totally see this being the ending of a romantic Hollywood movie?

This quick-thinking cashier

Another example of someone taking action before something horrible can happen. I'm guessing this woman was extremely grateful for this quick-thinking stranger.

This big-hearted bus driver

After spotting an infant running alongside an overpass, this Milwaukee County Bus Driver pulled over her vehicle and ran into oncoming traffic to save the child. Kind of makes you want to thank your local driver for their years of service, doesn't it?

This outstanding officer

After taking the time to speak to this suicidal man on the brink of plummeting to his death, this officer convinced him to climb back onto the bridge and turn his life around.

This clever dog owner

Honestly, the fact that this product isn't already available to purchase is nuts to me. What blind dog owner wouldn't want one of these?!

This small act of compassion

Strangers helping strangers is truly a beautiful thing. Yet another seemingly insignificant action that can change a person's entire outlook on life.

These American heroes

It's easy to see a disaster like this happen and simply go about your day, assuming other people will show up to save the day. These men risked their lives to help others.

This helping hand

Sure, this video is pretty goofy, but this guy was actually in a pretty scary situation. If that helpful motorist hadn't shown up, who knows what would have happened.

This real-life superhero

Not many people would have seen this going down and stepped in to do something about it, but this man very well could have saved this woman's life with his selfless actions. You can also hear his son, who's recording the video, say "My Dad's saving the day" at the end. This is the kind of example we should be setting for our children.

This Halloween savior

Someone has stolen all the candy out of my bowl on Halloween several times, so this one hits home for me. Seriously, people, STOP stealing candy! You can literally get it FOR FREE!

This touching reunion

If you were reunited with the man who saved your life when you were five years old, what would you say to him? I would probably just sob uncontrollably like I did while watching this video.

This sweet lunch date

Middle school is tough. You're in the most awkward stage of your life, and your classmates can be mercilessly cruel to anyone who doesn't "fit in." This kid probably had the best lunch of his life that day.

This adorable adoption

Puppies will always get adopted, but it's the senior and disabled dogs that need forever homes most of all. And how could anyone resist that sweet little face?!

This ponytailed angel

The determination on his face when he rallies the troupes to help this woman and her child is beyond epic. This just goes to show that there are good people everywhere. Even in mosh pits.

This gorgeous couple

Yes, her son is incredibly sweet, yes this is a touching story, blah blah blah. But seriously, can we just talk about how STUNNING this Mom is?! It's just not fair. I will probably look like Louie Anderson when my son is this age.

This petrifying poultry attack

This bird was out for blood! This kid would have been dead meat if this helpful driver hadn't stepped in.

This purse-saving stranger

I have a confession to make: I've seen a random purse left on the street before and did nothing about it. This story has shamed me into taking action the next time this happens.

This amazing brother

Every time I hear a story about a little kid throwing a birthday party and no one showing up my heart completely breaks. This brother is the real MVP.

This last-minute save

This guy was probably pretty irritated at first that someone interrupted these epic flips, but I'm guessing he got over it once he realized this guy saved him from breaking his neck on a giant rock.

These concerned customers

Being able to help a small business owner spend time with his sick wife AND eat doughnuts?! That's what I call a win-win.

This amazing present

I really don't know why I even bothered to put eye makeup on today. Pardon me for a moment while I compose myself...

These patient strangers

Yes, these young people are extremely kind and helpful, but seriously, WHY are these two people still allowed to drive?!

This wonderful wrestler

As if we all needed one MORE reason to love John Cena. Any man who's willing to have a tea party with a little girl is A-OK in my book.

This cold-weather champ

As someone who lives in the Midwest, I've been personally affected by the plummeting temperatures caused by the polar vortex. This generous act provided warmth and shelter to families who likely had no idea how they would survive these harrowing few days. And that's the kind of selfless behavior we need to see more of.
