Ordinarily, we would be happy that a stray dog is finding its way to food, but in some cases, we find that the kindness of strangers might be doing more harm than good.
Such was the case with this ailing puppy, Bohlina, who called the alley behind a gas station home. Since he didn't have any owners, he would beg tourists for food.
via: FacebookUnfortunately, the junk food they gave him and the lack of exercise ended up being more than his body could handle, so he quickly ballooned to eighty pounds.
No one was around to help Bohlina as the problem worsened. Not only was he having trouble moving his immense body, which reduced his mobility and exercise, but he was having trouble breathing even when at rest.
Fortunately, the right people took notice before it was too late for poor Bohlina.
The Animal Protection Organization picked up the ailing pup and gave him the basic treatment every animal should be entitled to.
They quickly put him on a gentle exercise regimen that would burn calories without traumatizing his fragile frame.
via: FacebookThose with the group said he was more excited about the exercise than he was about eating. Running in water reduced the stress on his already-worn joints.
The diet they gave him consisted primarily of protein for energy and little more.
As you can see, the results were almost instant, and in two weeks, he had dropped ten pounds.
Here he is thirty pounds lighter. He's going to remain in the organization's care until they can get him to drop another 15.
