Tragic news has reached us last week that This Is Us writer, Jas Waters had passed away at just thirty-nine years old.
People began speculating about her death after her final tweet surfaced, but now, a coroner has confirmed her official cause of death.

Jas Waters was the writer of the beloved series This Is Us.
The comedy-drama centers on 3 siblings – Kevin, Kate, and Randall – as they grapple with the ups and downs of their lives.
But this was far from her only venture in the industry.

As well as VH1’s The Breaks, MTV’s Real World, and Showtime’s Kidding.
The acclaimed TV writer also worked on flicks including Hardball, Save The Last Dance, and What Men Want.
Jas had her own column in VIBE magazine back in 2012.
But devastatingly, last week, there was some tragic news.
The news of her death was confirmed on the evening of June 10th.
Her death was announced by the This Is Us writing’s team Twitter account.
“She was a brilliant storyteller and a force of nature. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones. She was one of us. RIP.”
Shortly after the news was announced, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman posted a tribute to the late star.
“This news took my breath away,” he wrote.
“Jas was absolutely brilliant and had so many stories still to tell. She made an indelible mark on our show and my heart breaks for her loved ones.”
The likes of Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, and Susan Kelechi Watson paid tribute.
People are utterly heartbroken.
“Your words. Your imagination. Lord, you got a good one here! REST IN POWER QUEEN!”
“She helped me when she barely knew me.”
The news of her death is devastating.
“So crushed to hear of this.”
Glee star Amber Riley joined in on the tributes on social media.
“I can’t believe I woke up to hearing you are gone @JasFly.”
And many began taking to Twitter to recall encounters they had with her.
She’ll be greatly missed.
And it was utterly heartbreaking.
Many reminded the late star how much she was loved.
“You are now at peace.”
“I am so sad we lost you. So sad that a light like yours isn’t there anymore. But you helped and touched SO many. You were amazing. Thank you for everything you did. Your memory is a blessing. You were a blessing. I’m sorry. So sorry. Thank you for all you did while you were here.”
The heartbreaking tweet was posted on May 8th.
One look at her social media makes it very clear she was struggling.
It has been confirmed that the acclaimed writer took her own life.
And had been battling depression for twenty years, having been diagnosed at nineteen, according to reports.
But that he was “sure that wasn’t the reason she took her life.”
“Long before she was Jas Fly or any kind of Hollywood writer she was my little girl,” he said.
“My daughter was a brilliant, articulate, beautiful young woman who didn’t deserve this at all.”
