While all of us love a good bargain, there are a few things you just don't want to skimp on.

Sushi comes to mind, and healthcare is definitely another. Plastic surgery might not help your "health," but it's just as invasive and just as expensive, so it could be appealing to seek out a deal at a less-reputable office or even another cheaper country. But Leona Omalley's sharing her experience trying to cut costs in this realm so that others don't suffer the same painful fate she did trying to save a few hundred bucks.

Having already undergone four (!) different lip procedures already, Leona was sick of spending money without getting the results she sought.

So she took a beautician up on a Christmastime deal of $225 for a mL of filler in her lips. Obviously, things didn't go as she hoped, or we wouldn't be talking about her bad fortune.

Leona saw the signs that this was going to be a shady procedure, but didn't speak up.

She claims the beautician didn't wear gloves, carried the needle in an everyday plastic bag, and resorted to using baby wipes rather than proper sterile wipes.

After the procedure, as embarrassed and foolish as she felt, she bravely spoke up so that others wouldn't fall prey.

The result was definitely a big departure from her previous look, but not in a way that many would consider attractive.

See? Add the aesthetic problem with the harm she faced in having a non-sterile procedure and you can imagine why Leona was so upset.

She was ultimately hospitalized when the swelling wouldn't go down.

Fortunately, the infection was treated, and even though Leona's no longer angry, she leaves the pics and her story up to serve as a lesson to anyone trying to cut corners when it comes to such an invasive procedure.
