A Woman Is Detailing the 'Ugly Reality' of Extreme Weight Loss in a Series of Emotional Photos | 22 Words

Everyone has a breaking point when they hit rock bottom and know that if they don't change what they're doing, they're going to stay right down there at the bottom (not exactly the best place to be).

Kayla Hurley knew her moment came when she wasn't allowed to ride a roller coaster because she was too heavy —357 pounds. It was then that she decided the only way to go was up, and to do that, she got her weight down.

Two years of hard work later, she shed an astonishing 193 pounds and shared her amazing weight loss story on Imgur.

Despite the fact that her major body change occurred a couple years ago, she still gets questions about it, and most of them are inquiries about what happens to the loose skin.

"Here it is, it's ugly but it's the reality of massive weight-loss," Kayla wrote. "Loose skin. I mainly have it around my abdomen but I also have it around my upper chest and arms. It causes back and skin problems. It changes the way I can exercise and alters my center of gravity. I have to dress around my body instead of dressing the way I would like, there are certain things I can and cannot wear."

"It really has an impact on my self confidence and how I see myself," she continued. "My plan is to get it removed once I feel like I have toned and reduced it as much as I am able naturally!"

Kayla noted that everything just takes her more time now, saying, "Loose skin changes what should be a 15 minute shower into a 30 minute because it needs its own care and drying or else it causes infections and other problems."

"No amount of exercising will remove this, it may reduce in a year or so with more toning and weight training but it will never be completely gone without surgical intervention."

Even though loose skin is annoying, Kayla is proud of where she today, which is why she shared these real photos of her transformed body.
