Sister, Sister star Tia Mowry has filed for divorce from her husband Cory Hardrict.
She announced their separation on Instagram.
The pair have been together for fourteen years, so the news has come as a huge shock to fans…
One Instagram user wrote: “While this may be shocking and heartbreaking for many of us, let’s just respect their decision and wish them happiness and continued joy in their individual lives nonetheless.”
Another commented: “The pit in my stomach! Like this is impossible!!! Wow. This reminds us to never envy what we see on social media because reality hits differently every single time.”
Tia and Cory first met while working on the movie Hollywood Horror way back in 2005.
They immediately hit it off and began dating.
After 6 years of dating the pair finally tied the knot in 2008…
And not long after, they welcomed eleven-year-old Cree into the world, followed by 4-year-old Cairo.
However, it seems their relationship has taken a turn for the worst. Fans first noticed something off when Tia posted a message on her Instagram Stories…
On Tuesday she re-posted a quote that read: “Letting go can be painful. But it won’t hurt as much holding on to an illusion.”
Seemingly having something to do with her relationship with Cory.
Tia later addressed the divorce on Instagram, sharing that she is still friends with Cory, and thanking her fans for their support during this difficult time.
Tia wrote:
“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness.”
Adding:
“We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
The date of their divorce hasn’t been announced, but Tia has allegedly asked the court for joint custody of their children.
And requested they deny spousal support for both sides. The pair also declared that they share a prenuptial agreement.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Tia listed the reason for their separation as ‘irreconcilable differences.’
