We are currently in the midst of a medical crisis.Originating from the Chinese city of Wuhan, a deadly virus known as the coronavirus has been rapidly spreading across the globe.
So far, the symptoms have proven to be deadly.Coronavirus infections have a wide range of symptoms, including fever, coughing, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Severe cases can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and death.
A lot of people have now died from the virus...It has been confirmed by Worldometer that 4,638 people have now died globally, with the majority being in mainland China. A further 126,620 have been found to carry the virus and be infected.
Things are only getting worse...The virus continues to rapidly spread, and traces of the disease have been discovered and confirmed in nearly every other major country in the world.
The United Nations were forced to declare a global emergency. The World Health Organization declared an emergency last month and called on all countries to take urgent measures to contain the respiratory disease.
And everyone has been asking the same thing...What is it that's causing this deadly virus?
There are many theories...

Bats are believed to be one of the main culprits...Strains of the virus have been discovered in bats in the past and, with them being a delicacy in some areas of China, they are believed to be one of the primary causes.
But regardless of where it comes from, it is a simple fact that the virus can be spread quickly and easily...And the World Health Organization has warned that it can be spread by simply coughing, kissing or making contact with saliva.
Scientists have been working tirelessly in a bid to find a vaccine...But despite generous donations made to the cause, they have so far had no luck.
People all around the world are panicking. It's a dire situation.
And many are going to extreme lengths to protect themselves.People have been spotted donning face masks and various other items of clothing and materials in airports in a desperate bid to avoid the virus.
It's safe to say that researchers are now getting desperate...And there is an immense amount of pressure on authorities to find a cure, and fast.
Because the virus continues to spread across the globe like wildfire...And it's showing no signs of slowing down.
As stated earlier, the coronavirus has infected numerous different countries now...And the United States is now one of them.
The number of cases here in America is rising...So far, 1,016 people have been confirmed to have been infected with the virus, and thirty-one have reportedly died.
And the disease is only expected to continue spreading...The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a few weeks ago that it expects the coronavirus to spread in the United States and has asked Americans to prepare for when the virus hits, not if, CNN reported.
Preparations are underway...And hospitals across the country are bracing themselves for an influx of infected patients.
San Francisco became the first U.S. city to declare an official state of emergency.Despite not having any confirmed cases of the virus.
Declaring an emergency will enable the county to stock up on medical supplies and facilities...And will allow nurses and doctors to prepare for a possible influx of patients.
And, this week, President Trump announced a thirty-day suspension on all travel from Europe to the United States. So things are getting pretty serious.
Evidently, the coronavirus has been causing people all around the world to suffer from serious panic...And many are experiencing anxiety and worry over the impending doom the virus brings with it.
And it seems that there is a reason for people to really start panicking. The BBC reported yesterday on the 11th of March that the coronavirus has been officially confirmed by the WHO as a pandemic.
The number of people testing positive for coronavirus is rapidly rising by the day...And this most certainly doesn't exclude the rich and famous.
News has just broken that world-famous actor Tom Hanks and his wife have tested positive for the coronavirus. The sixty-three-year-old took to Instagram to reveal the news yesterday evening after the pair have been spending time in Australia for production of Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley movie, in which Hanks is playing Presley’s iconic manager Colonel Tom Parker.
Hanks posted this photo to Instagram from a Queensland hospital..."Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive," he wrote. "Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety require. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!"
Warner Bros., the distributor behind the film, issued a statement shortly after Hanks and Wilson went public..."We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus)," the statement read. "We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members are always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment."
Since the news broke, people have been flooding to Twitter to send their condolences...
