"Well. Here we are. 2 days ago we flew to Canada. I can admit when I’m wrong and I feel like I should have listened, but I didn’t want to live in fear and I also trusted production that everything was better in Canada (it is as of now) so because production wasn’t shutting down we left as advised. As the hours literally kept passing there were new rules, precautions etc to follow so my concern grew larger." "As of today we shot our first and only scene. Many, many people contributed to my SOCIAL DISTANCING. Uh, I'd like to thank my parents for never giving me a ride to school, the L.A. city bus driver for taking a chance on an unknown kid, and, uh, last but not least, the wonderful crew at McDonalds for spending hours making those egg McMuffins TO GO, without which I might never be SOCIALLY DISTANT."

As Tom was released from his Queensland hospital and is now resting in a private home, People reports.

But it seems the latest update on his condition isn't so good...

Tom Hanks' sister, Sandra Hanks Benoiton, revealed some worrying details about her brother to Daily Mail.

Sandra, who is Tom's eldest sibling, is currently on lockdown in Italy.

She moved there in 2016 with her family but remains on lockdown while the country deals with the outbreak.

But she says she has been in touch with Tom.

And, despite the actor sharing regular updates with fans, some of which appear to be pretty lighthearted, Sandra has shed new light on the reality of his health.

Here's what she said:

"I have communicated with my brother. He's not great, but still okay. [Am I] shocked? No. He's an actor, not a god [but] medical care in Australia is good."

She continued:

"We're okay here... staying home is fine with us, and this community is wonderful. I'm lucky to be here, the spirit of the people is amazing! The US and the UK are failing miserably, however." Get well soon, Tom and Rita! The COVID-19 pandemic is also having a major impact on the TV and movie industry.
