Twitter Is Roasting Ivanka Trump for This Abomination of a Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Every year around Thanksgiving, there are are two main questions that everyone has.

First: Who is cooking the turkey? And second: Who is bringing the giant clam full of garbage?

That seems to be what happens at Ivanka Trump’s house, anyway. The daughter of (and advisor to) the president recently shared a tip for bringing some holiday cheer to your Thanksgiving table and it left a lot of people questioning whether she’s OK. (But let’s be honest. She is probably not.)

“Have no idea how to decorate your Thanksgiving table?” the tweet asks. “Problem solved.” Directly underneath that is a perfect example of how not to decorate your Thanksgiving table.

The giant clamshell. The gourds. The pinecones. The sticks. It’s… a lot.

This is trash, right? Are we being punked? This is all just garbage. There are so many things wrong with this “centerpiece.” Luckily for us, Twitter pointed them all out.

If you go this route with your own decorations this year, you’ll absolutely have at least one thing to be thankful for: that you weren’t attacked by the centerpiece. (Assuming that’s true. Honestly, it could go either way.)

It’s true. Ivanka is no Martha Stewart. But she might have something in common with the DIY queen herself! After all, Martha went to prison… (See where we’re going with this?)

But hey, prison food has a lot going for it. Like the fact that it’s not served out of a giant clamshell full of garbage, for instance.

“Festive Garbage Clam.” That has a very good ring to it! And every year, the family shall gather around the giant clam, throw their trash into it, and say what they’re thankful for. This is how traditions are made, people!

It’s got a shell, it’s got some leaves, and it’s got a squash of sorts. That’s all you need for Thanksgiving, really. The plastic fork and spoon really tie the whole look together.

The gourds kind of make sense. Kind of. But why the clamshell? Why the driftwood? Why are you doing this to us?

But don’t plan on ever being asked to host Thanksgiving again. We can’t wait to see what Ivanka has in store for the rest of the holiday season!
