Taking to Instagram, Billie shared a photo that urged fans to think about their food choices this Thanksgiving.

And here’s how she did it.

Now, throughout her career, Eilish has never been afraid to speak her mind…

Aged just nineteen, Billie Eilish has taken the music industry by storm. She’s been writing and creating her own music since she was incredibly young, and has risen to fame with the huge hit album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? that was released in March 2019.

She’s known for being somewhat of a quirky character…

Billie was home-schooled, so she didn’t get the chance to interact with others of her own age apart from her siblings until she started to make waves in the music scene, which has given her something of a unique outlook on the world.

It also gives her music a different sound…

Many are pretty shocked that such a young person could create such hauntingly catchy tunes – and such suggestive lyrics.

Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? ranked at number 1 on the charts.

Most artists have to release a couple of albums and dedicate their lives to promoting their work before they are even recognized as an artist, but then there’s a lucky few, like Billie, who reach superstardom on their first attempt. When the album was released, she wrote, “This album [means] the world to me please take care of it.”

But that wasn’t even the first time that we saw her climbing the charts…

Her introductory EP, Don’t Smile at Me, went all the way to slot fourteen, and has already been awarded gold, an achievement that many artists can only dream of receiving.

But, it’s safe to say, Billie is as famous for her image as she is for her music…

She doesn’t dress like your typical nineteen-year-old, that’s for sure.

She is known for rocking some pretty brave looks…

Like this full white suit complete with Powerpuff Girl embroidery, which she pairs with some signature tiny sunglasses. Weird – but it kind of works?

Or what about this full green ensemble?

We have to say, love it or hate it, you can’t deny Billie’s commitment to her unique style – and that’s not something many of us are brave enough to pull off.

And Billie doesn’t just experiment with fashion…

The star is no stranger to getting creative with her hair – opting for more out there looks and colors to fit her quirky aesthetic.

She donned silver hair for some time…

If anything, it was this look that became her trademark around 2017.

And we can’t forget about this eye-catching look either, can we?

Neon green roots? Very brave.

But it turns out there was a reason behind Billie’s quirky look…

Her choices in fashion – which strongly consist of baggy, oversized clothes – are picked to protect herself from her global audience body-shaming her and judging her on her natural appearance.

Speaking in an interview last year, Billie explained these choices…

“That’s why I wear baggy clothes,” she said. “Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath. Nobody can be like, ‘she’s slim-thick,’ ‘she’s not slim-thick,’ ‘she’s got a flat a**,’ ‘she’s got a fat a**.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.”

And we honestly don’t blame Billie for having had this attitude.

But sadly, people have already attempted to exploit and body-shame the teenager. Even when she was as young as fifteen, online trolls were trying to sexualize her for no apparent reason.

It’s terribly sad that the singer has to put up with this treatment…

And it is a harsh reality that young women in the spotlight are always targeted by older people.

But, when discussing the topic, Billie has said in the past that she didn’t want to remain covered up forever.

“I’m going to be a woman. I want to show my body,” Eilish told Elle in an interview last year. “What if I want to make a video where I want to look desirable?”

She said that, upon turning eighteen, she wanted the option to sometimes reveal her body.

But she already understood the repercussions a move like that could bring.
“I know it would be a huge thing,” she said in the interview, adding, “I know people will say, ‘I’ve lost all respect for her.'”

And that’s pretty much exactly what happened.

As soon as the singer started getting more experimental with her fashion choices, it seems as though she had to face the harsh reality of being judged by critics as well as her fans.

However, critics got a little harsh over something other than her fashion for a change…

Her views on abortion caused a bit of a brouhaha online.

advertisement

We all know that Texas has enabled a law that bans abortion when foetal cardiac activity has been detected.

And as celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, and comedian Amy Schumer take a stand against the law, Billie Eilish went 1 step further…

While some people were agreeing with Billie, others weren’t so happy with her words.

“I’m sick and tired of old men,” Billie Eilish said on stage at her concert.

And she even admitted that she almost canceled her show due to the “s*** law.”
“When they made that s*** a law, I almost didn’t want to do the show, because I wanted to punish this f***ing place for allowing that to happen here,” she expressed.

“My body, my f***ing choice,” she yelled repeatedly.

Damn right it is!

And now, the star’s had a little something to say about Thanksgiving food choices, too.

The nineteen-year-old singer has long been an activist for the veganism movement and has grown up in a vegetarian household, and she’s always had something to say about her choices.

advertisement

At one point, in an interview, Billie expressed that she “doesn’t care” what other people eat, explaining that she won’t push her veganism beliefs on others.

She also said that she’s never been like that growing up, either.

“I’ve never been the type of person that like shoves my beliefs in people’s faces, ever in my life,” she explained.

“I’ve never had meat in my life, I’ve always been a vegetarian, and growing up I never was like ‘don’t eat that’ You know? I don’t give a f*ck what you eat, like eat whatever you want,” she finished, taking a pretty chill stance on the meat industry.

But then, when an investigation was uncovered that revealed Fair Oaks Farms was abusing its calves, Billie spoke out.

“I keep my mouth shut most of the time about this because I believe everyone should do eat and say whatever they want… and I don’t feel the need to shove what I believe in, in anyone’s face,” she said on Instagram, according to Totally Vegan Buzz.

“But man … if you can watch the videos that I just posted and not give a f*ck that it’s you contributing by literally eating the creatures that are being fully tortured just for your pleasure, I feel sorry for you.

“I understand that meat tastes good … and I know you think you’re just one person and it won’t change anything if you stop but that’s ignorant and stupid. If you have half a brain, you should know ‘one person’ adds up. Be smarter,” she finished.

And now, this year, she’s spoken out again.

But, her post incited a lot of mockery from people online.

On her Instagram, she said:  “Turkeys are some of the most gentle creatures in the world and 46 million of them are killed every thanskgiving,” according to the Daily Mail.

“I know it’s hard to change traditions but just keep it in mind,” she finished.
