Things aren't all as they seem when it comes to Vin Diesel...

Diesel has long been known as the macho man...

But it seems that, on the downlow, he's been living a double life.

The actor has been keeping a big secret...

And he's finally spilled it all.

Now, the star took a big risk to kick start his career.

Diesel dropped out of college to create his first flick, Multi-Facial, which was subsequently screened at the Cannes Film Festival back in 1995.

His next movie also got the film festival treatment...

Strays was screened at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, and soon caught the eye of award-winning director Steven Spielberg.

The Hollywood giant cast the actor in his World War II epic Saving Private Ryan.

The smash-hit film skyrocketed Diesel into the spotlight, introducing him to a mainstream audience.

It was only onwards and upwards from there...

And the rising star soon found big-budget projects heading his way.

In 2001, the star landed his career-defining role in The Fast and the Furious.

Starring as the notorious street racer Dominic Torretto who is investigated by an undercover cop (played by Paul Walker).

The Fast and Furious franchise is one of the most successful in history.

After debuting in 2001, there have been a whopping 8 movies, each and everyone a huge blockbuster smash.

Diesel is a verified Fast & Furious veteran...

Having starred as Dominic in the movies for almost twenty years.

His status as a firm frontrunner in the action genre was further cemented by his leading role in 2002's XXX.

Determined not to be typecasted, soon enough, Diesel attempted to broaden his horizons with the 2005 comedy The Pacifier.

And, of course...

There was 2006's Find Me Guilty.

But Diesel soon returned to his popular tough-guy persona...

With the release of later installments of the Fast and Furious franchise, including Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), and Furious 7 (2015).

But, in 2014, the star joined another popular franchise.

Diesel lent his voice to the adorable Groot, a tree-like being in the sci-fi adventure Guardians of the Galaxy.

The superhero flick became an international smash hit.

Going on to gross around $770 million at the box office, with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017) going on to be an even bigger blockbuster.

Diesel also voiced Groot for appearances in other movies...

Including Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Ralph Breaks the Internet (2019).

However, some of his later projects have failed to impress.

The likes of Last Witch Hunter and Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk barely turned the heads of critics.

Although there is one thing on the cards...

Another Fast and Furious offering.

Fast & Furious 9 is set to be released early next year.

And fans are pretty excited – not least because of the teasers Diesel has been dropping on his social media.

There's no doubt the star has curated a tough guy image on-screen.

His movies have only further reinforced  his macho persona.

But it seems he's been living something of a double life.

Yep, really.

Diesel has been keeping a big secret...

And he's kept it locked away for years.

Until, the promotion for his movie The Last Witch Hunter, that is.

The star finally spilled all while promoting the movie.

Drumroll please... Vin Diesel is a closet Dungeons and Dragons player.

Although maybe not so closeted. The star has given plenty of hints to his love for playing the retro game throughout his career.

Take, for instance, his role of Xander Cage in xXx.

Diesel insisted that the character of Cage have the name “Melkor" tattooed on his chest - the name of Diesel’s real-life Dungeons and Dragons character.

And that's not all...

Another nod to Diesel’s passion for the game came in 2004 when he wrote the foreword to 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons and Dragons. So, there you have it. For more on the star, scroll on to find out more about the upcoming Fast and Furious movie...
