Philip Rivers throwing to you was always a pleasure to watch. You were a phenomenal receiver for the Chargers. 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/NvWboxIMUI
Vincent Jackson caught the first touchdown I ever watched live...and caught two more this game to go with it. Truly a special wide receiver in his short stint with the San Diego Chargers.

The tragic news of Vincent Jackson's death comes just eight days after the Bucs won a Super Bowl on their home field. He last played in 2016, but was an early mentor to Bucs receiver Mike Evans, his teammate from 2014-16. In 5 years in Tampa, won Man of the Year honors 4 times.

Now, Vincent Jackson was best known for being a professional football player...
And he well and truly made a name for himself in the NFL in the last decade.
He was a star athlete in both football and basketball at the University of Northern Colorado before going 61st overall to the San Diego Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft.
Jackson played for the Chargers from 2005 to 2011, making the Pro Bowl twice.
He then spent the latter part of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...
Earning a 3rd Pro Bowl spot in 2012.
Jackson retired from NFL in 2016...
And he reportedly earned 540 receptions, fifty-seven TDs, and more than 9,000 receiving yards during his twelve seasons in the league... which is very impressive.
Jackson was always super passionate about those who served in the U.S Armed Forces as both of his parents served themselves...

And he was known for supporting military families at every Buccaneers home game through the "Jackson in Action" Front Row Fans section at Raymond James Stadium.
He also worked hard as a community leader in his hometown of Colorado Springs...
And he lived a happy family life with his wife and 3 children.
But yesterday, tragedy struck.
TMZ reported that Jackson was found unresponsive on Monday by a housekeeper at the Homewood Suites hotel in Brandon, Florida.
His family reported him as missing earlier this month...
But the missing persons report was canceled when police got in touch with him just last week on February 12th.
Yet Jackson didn't return home.
The former NFL player was pronounced dead shortly after being found on Monday...

And the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the cause of death; which currently isn't being treated as suspicious due to the lack of trauma found at the scene.
It is also currently unknown why Jackson was pretty much living at the hotel...
