Now, Biden has endured a long and tedious battle for his place in the White House...

In 1987, he first decided to run for president but, after suffering from severe headaches during the campaign, he dropped out the following year. Doctors later discovered that he had 2 life-threatening brain aneurysms.

And, 2 decades after his initial presidential bid...

Biden decided to run for president once again. However, despite his experience in the Senate, his campaign failed to gain momentum.

Last year marked his third run for president...

And saw him go head to head with the notorious President Donald Trump.

It was one hell of a run-up to the election.

Getty

Of course, the election couldn't have fallen on a worse year, but it powered ahead despite some major setbacks - including Trump's coronavirus diagnosis.

And the votes didn't lie!

Getty

After a tense few days of counting (and recounting) votes, it was confirmed that Joe Biden's third run for president had been successful - everyone, meet the forty-sixth president of the United States.

This was a historic win...

Not only because Biden broke Barack Obama's record for the most votes cast for a presidential candidate, but also because vice president-elect, Kamala Harris, will be the first-ever woman of color to be elected in office. Simply amazing.

Of course, President Donald Trump didn't take to this news well, at all...

Getty

And after continuously claiming the entire election was "a fix" and that he was the actual winner, Trump recently declared that he won't be attending Biden's inauguration - something that didn't come as a surprise to many.

Trump is also facing impeachment following his behavior over the riots held at the U.S Capitol building...

Getty

So we can only imagine how much of a rub in the face Biden's success is for the disgraced president.

Biden, on the other hand, accepted his win graciously...

And the president-elect, along with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, has been celebrating along with the rest of the country.

Biden will be inaugurated into office on Wednesday, January 20th...

Which is mere days away from now.

Democrats all across the country are eager for the special moment...

Because it's bound to be a historical moment - and that's not just because Trump has refused to attend!

And as for his inauguration theme?

Well, it's America United, of course!

"At a time of unprecedented crisis and deep divisions, America United reflects the beginning of a new national journey that restores the soul of America, brings the country together, and creates a path to a brighter future," a statement from the transition team read.

In addition to the theme, 2 Inauguration Day events have also been announced...

In his first act as president, Biden will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery.

He will be joined by first lady Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, and her husband, Doug Emhoff...

As well as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Former first ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush...

As well as Hillary Clinton, will also participate.

The inaugural committee also plans to install an art display on the National Mall.

The "Field of Flags" will include 191,500 American flags, representing the Americans who sadly can't be at the celebration.

"This inauguration marks a new chapter for the American people — one of healing, of unifying, of coming together, of an America united. It is time to turn the page on this era of division."

"The inaugural activities will reflect our shared values and serve as a reminder that we are stronger together than we are apart, just as our motto 'e pluribus unum' reminds us — out of many, one," Biden inauguration CEO Tony Allen said.

Of course, the ceremony will be majorly scaled-down at the U.S Capitol...

Because of both the continuing coronavirus pandemic and, as of recently, the Capitol riot held by far-right Trump-supporters last week.

The safety of Biden, his family, and his administration is of the utmost importance...

Especially during such a politically tense time in our country.

After the president-elect is sworn into office, we will see an inauguration parade take place.

The parade, which will be a virtual event, will feature the stories and talents of people from across the US.

One person reported to be part of this by TMZ is Nathan Apodaca aka the "Dreams" skateboarder who went viral last year.

Apodaca, also known as Doggface, went viral after a video of him skateboarding while drinking cranberry juice and listening to the Fleetwood Mac tune "Dreams" blew up.

Apodaca has been so successful following the video, that he was reportedly able to move out of the RV he was living in and purchase a 5-bedroom house in Idaho.

And with this appearance, it looks like his success is only set to grow.

Sources close to the president-elect's inauguration planning team told TMZ that "they reached out to Nathan to ask him to join the project, because they saw how his feel-good video uplifted the world this past fall during social unrest and pandemic anxiety."

TMZ were also told that Biden's team was impressed by Nathan's humble response to the worldwide reaction to his video and suggested he incorporate the skateboarding into Biden's digital celebration.

They report that he agreed to take part and has filmed something for the parade.

We can't wait to watch!
