It's that time of year where People magazine crowns their "sexiest man alive." The title has been awarded to the likes of Chris Hemsworth, David Beckham, Idris Elba, and Johnny Depp in the past and now the time has come to pass on the crown to another a-lister.

And it seems the lucky man is the singing sensation, John Legend. The announcement of his new title was made yesterday, and he seems to be pretty proud of his achievement. However, Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen stole the show with her hilarious response to the announcement.

But another celebrity has also had something to say about Legend's win. Read on for Wendy Williams' brutal shade.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are Hollywood's sweethearts.

The pair got together over a decade ago and have gone from strength to strength ever since.

Their romance began in 2007.

Teigen and Legend first met on the set of Legend’s 2007 music video for “Stereo," where Teigen starred as the singer's love interest. The model, author, and TV personality later revealed that when the shoot was over, the pair went back to Legend’s hotel room, ate at In-N-Out, and hooked up. “We did the music video, we were together for like 12 hours," she told Wendy Williams in 2014. “We spent the entire day together, me in my underwear and him in a full suit, and I went to go say goodbye to him, to his hotel and we didn’t ever say goodbye that night."

But, the pair didn't make it official until months after their music video fling.

With Legend heading out on tour shortly after wrapping up his music video, the timing just wasn't meant to be. “The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, ‘There’s so much more out there.’ I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, ‘What are we?’ Marriage was never my goal because I’ve never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him," Teigen explained to Cosmopolitan in 2014.

While Legend was on the road, the couple talked and texted.

But it wasn't long before Teigen joined her beau on tour. Although the pair had a mini-break up during this time... that lasted a day. “He was feeling really bummed and stressed out [on tour]. He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’ That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working."

After fiery beginnings, the couple settled down with one of many trips to Italy.

The couple took their first trip to Lake Como, Italy - the future site of their wedding and filming location for the music video of the smash hit “All of Me" - in 2007. Apparently, it was on this getaway that Tiegen knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Legend.

After 4 years of dating, Legend got down on one knee.

...but it didn't run quite as smoothly as he'd have hoped. Legend proposed to Teigen during a Maldives vacation in December 2011, but the pair had a fight on the way to the airport, and to top it off, TSA almost ruined the surprise before they could even board on their flight.

But luckily, everything turned out fine in the end.

“We get to the Maldives and he had planned this beautiful Christmas. He knows how much I love Christmas…And this waiter comes out with a silver dome for dessert…So he opens up the dome and a ton of arugula falls out and then I kind of fish in it…And I see the little box and then you know, your heart stops and you get so excited," Teigen explained. “There was no big grand speech or anything. I think it was just very lovely and sweet."

The pair got hitched on September 14, 2013, in Lake Como.

But they (legally) got married in an NYC courthouse, a day before traveling to Italy. "We actually got married after going to a couple of Fashion Week shows at Vera Wang, ironically who actually did my dress, but we got married at the courthouse right after," Teigen explained to E! News. “We are dumb and didn’t realize that our Italian wedding would not be recognized unless we had a real ceremony in New York City. So Irina Shayk was our witness - the most beautiful woman on earth!"

The couple share 2 children together.

Teigen gave birth to their daughter, Luna Simone Stephens, on April 14, 2016, and son, Miles Theodore Stephens, on May 16, 2018.

The pair have since cemented themselves as a firm Hollywood power couple.

The two are a pivotal part of the celebrity scene and their fans lap it up (especially where Teigen's relatable social media posts are concerned... let's be honest, she's comedy gold.)

All in all, they are truly relationship goals.

But it looks like the pair want to put their relationship to the test to really see if they deserve their reigning title of a firm Hollywood power couple.

They even took part in Vanity Fair's lie detector test.

The YouTube video, which runs for a whopping twenty-five minutes, sees the couple answer a number of home truths about their relationship while hooked up to a polygraph machine. From prenups to crushes, they well and truly dish the dirt - making for a rather entertaining spectacle.

In true Teigen style, she was brutally honest throughout.

Legend asked her if she still found other men attractive. In response, Teigen admitted that yes, of course, she still finds other guys attractive. It's natural. Legend then pulled out pictures of celebrities to get his wife’s take on their attractiveness. We love!

Chrissy has also been known to share hilarious moments between the pair.

Remember the time that she posted a video showing us all how she kept moving a plate of chicken wings from Legend's grasp... with her butt?

And don't even get me started on when she shared this "heartfelt" post dedicated to her husband.

In the caption, she thanked Legend for supporting her "Instagram dreams" while the comments poured in with many claiming they want a husband exactly like that. I mean, who wouldn't want that? It's every millennial's dream!

But Chrissy has added yet another notch in her belt with this iconic moment.

It all came after hubby, Legend, joined the likes of Idris Elba and Chris Hemsworth when he was crowned as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive.

The announcement was made on Tuesday night.

Already a well-accomplished musician, it seems he's added another string to his bow... it's an impressive achievement.

But Teigen well and truly stole the show with her response to the news...

She seemed particularly thrilled about the announcement.

It is certainly matter-of-fact.

But would we expect anything less from the Queen of Twitter herself?

But now there's been another celeb response.

It comes from Wendy Williams, and it's characteristically brutal!

"When I think about a sexy man, I'm not thinking John Legend."

"The first thing I think of is that I weigh so much more than him," the host laughed.

"If we were walking down the street ..."

"... and somebody wanted to spray me with a water gun, I need a man that's going to punch someone in the face. You know what I mean?"

"If I'm not quite feeling right after leaving the club, I need a man to throw me over his shoulder and say, 'Come on girl.'"

"John is not that guy. But congratulations Jonathan." Even harsher? Williams had another idea for the real sexiest man winner.

Jason Momoa. (Well, who did you expect?)

"You know who I like and he's not even the Sexiest Man Alive. I normally don't like facial hair, but in new life, I'm meeting a lot of new men. If I could think of one person it would be Jason Momoa."

But she wasn't totally anti-John.

"I think they're a cute couple," Williams admitted of him and wife Chrissy Teigen. And for more of this internet-favorite couple, keep scrolling to see why we love them so much!
