Just moments before the shot, Kirk had been answering a question about mass shootings by transgender individuals in America.
Audience footage showed Kirk suddenly slumping in his chair, blood pouring from his neck as his team scrambled to reach him.

Separate footage, also from campus, showed a dark shape lying flat on the roof where the fatal shot came from.
“There’s somebody on the roof right there,” one witness was heard saying. “He just ran from over there, ran in, now he’s right there.”
Chaos overtook the quad as panicked students and guests fled the scene.
