Whoopi Goldberg, alongside fellow co-stars of The View, has weighed in on Alicia Silverstone’s revelation that her eleven-year-old son still sleeps with her.
The Clueless actress’ admission has spilt the opinions of both fans…

And The View panel.
While some panel members defended the decision, others frowned upon it.

Including Whoopi Goldberg.
Scroll on to find out what she said…
Now, most of us will recognize Silverstone from the hit ’90s chick-flick, Clueless.

Aged only eighteen, the actress found her big break with the movie, where she played the role of shallow, rich, yet kind-hearted Cher.
I have to admit, I had her classic “as if” as a ringtone for far too long.

And, to this day, it still remains one of the most iconic and well-known chick flicks from the ’90s.
She shot to fame after the release of the film.

Which she admits, now, was a lot to deal with as a young woman.
It was hard for her to navigate the newfound fame.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2020, Silverstone recalled: “I was so overwhelmed by being famous because I was such a young girl and it was never really my intention.”
She also touched on how that was her first experience of Hollywood.

“It was really just extreme how I was being talked to and talked about,” she says. “I think I just got really turned off by it.”
Silverstone shared that she felt “extremely isolated” at the time, and didn’t have “a ton of friends in the industry.”

She noted, “they say there’s a young Hollywood out there, but I’m not part of it.”
Following on from her Clueless success, the actress embarked on a number of other high-profile projects…

And, at the height of her fame, she was handed a rare multimillion-dollar, 3-year first-look deal by Columbia with her production company attached. For a woman of such a young age, this was staggering.
“I stopped loving acting for a very long time,” she admitted, adding that it was a role in a David Mamet play that reinvigorated her.

“My body was just like, this is what I’m meant to do, I love it so much, I need to find a way to do both, to be able to be an actress and be an activist at the same time so that’s what I did,” she said.
But now, Silverstone has taken a step back from acting…

Though she still performs every now and then, Silverstone’s passions lay in veganism, animal rights, and writing.
Animal rights is a huge passion of hers…

She regularly uses her Instagram account to remind her followers of the cruelty involved with the meat industry and has even starred in many ads and campaigns for the animal rights group, PETA.
And she regularly posts updates of her son online…

Though she separated from his father, Christopher Jarecki, in 2018, the pair still co-parented together. “We ask Bear where he wants to be. But then I started to wonder if that was too much pressure,” she explained on Today. “So, I checked in with him and he said, ‘I love that I get to decide.’ We both have different perks!”
Although Silverstone is undoubtedly a wonderful parent…

She has faced a considerable amount of backlash about her parenting decisions throughout the years.
There are some revelations that have left people questioning her…

She revealed that she and Bear still bathe together… And of course, that did not sit well with other parents.
She also shared that he decided to grow out his hair…

“Mama and Papa aren’t going to stop him from being him. He’s beautiful and we love his hair!” she said. “We would never impose any social ideas about what hair on a boy or girl should look like. We should all try to embrace our children and who they choose to be without any judgment!”
Now this one is actually a very wholesome one.
She then came out with another revelation about his upbringing.

The actress has admitted that Bear lives off a vegan diet and has even said that she never has to discipline him because of it. As most of you will know, the decision to raise a child on a vegan diet is a controversial one, with many health specialists saying it can cause long-term damage to developing bodies.
She then shared that she let her son watch Clueless when he was 5.

A move that didn’t end well.
She shared to Entertainment Tonight that “He saw Clueless when he was 5 because it was on at the Hollywood [Forever] Cemetery…

“Four thousand people came to see and I couldn’t pass that experience up, of watching it under the stars, pillows on the ground with rosé.”
She continued: “He was so young and it’s not appropriate, I think, for a five-year-old to watch that movie.

“It’s all about s*x and stuff, so I just realized, ‘Oops.’ But, at the time… he loved it.”
However, after watching the film, her son took his affection for his mom a little too far…

She continued: “But what he really picked up [on is] he tried to kiss me, like, passionate kisses, because that’s what he saw in the movie.”
Some feel as though she shouldn’t have shared the account…

One Facebook user wrote: “Why do celebrities need to tell anyone this kind of stuff, keep it private ffs nobody needs or wants to know and I’m sure her son won’t thank her for it.”
And now she’s revealed yet another controversial parenting move on The Ellen Fisher Podcast.

She shared that “Bear and I still sleep together.”
Silverstone then added that she knew she’d “get in trouble for” her comments from critics, that her eleven-year-old still sleeps with her.

Although she said “I don’t really care,” about what they have to say.
The actress also responded to the haters that have bashed her parenting style from day 1…

She said: “I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is scared of nature and love.”
And just as Silverstone expected, people have a lot of strong opinions on her parenting style…

Including Whoopi Goldberg and fellow The View co-stars.
During the show, Whoopi Goldberg, joined by Lindsey Granger, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines, discussed Silverstone sharing a bed with her son.

According to Decider, Goldberg began by reading out what Silverstone had said about sleeping together before responding with a frown and a shake of the head.
Beginning their discussion, Goldberg then added: “I don’t know any 11-year-old that wants to sleep with me.”

And some of her co-stars appeared to agree as Granger said: “I don’t know Alicia Silverstone, but I feel like this is a little clueless.”
Granger also added that she “couldn’t imagine” sleeping in bed with her daughter at that age.

However, there were some panel members who came to Silverstone’s defense.
Behar defended Silverstone’s parenting choice saying: “Europeans do it. What’s the big fear?”
With Hostin siding with Behar as she explained that her teenage son will come into her room and ask to get into bed and talk.
Though Goldberg claimed that was “different.”
“That’s different,” she said, the outlet reports. “He’s not sleeping with you.”
What do you think?
