A witness has revealed what Alec Baldwin allegedly said after firing a prop gun that killed a cinematographer and wounded a director on set…
Baldwin is said to have repeatedly asked one question.
The incident took place during the filming for Baldwin’s new western movie, Rust.
Have a look for yourselves.
Now, we all know and love Alec Baldwin for being the fun-loving actor and comedian that he is…
And in the last few months, there seems to have been nothing but good news for Alec and his family.
The actor and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, welcomed their sixth child via surrogacy earlier in March…
And fans from far and wide were sending in messages of congratulations for the happy couple.
But the well-wishes weren’t to last…
As shortly afterward, the 30 Rock actor made a rather distasteful joke that didn’t sit well with his fans.
Because we all know that the actor is known for not being afraid to push boundaries in the name of comedy, right?
For instance, Alec received critical acclaim for his portrayal of former POTUS Donald Trump on the long-running sketch series Saturday Night Live, both during the latter part of the 2016 U.S. presidential election campaign and following the inauguration.
This controversial role won him his third Primetime Emmy in 2017.
But one joke seemed to have pushed the boundaries a little too much…
It was about The Crown actress Gillian Anderson’s accent during her Golden Globes Awards acceptance speech.
You see, a thing that many fans don’t know about Gillian is that in real life, she doesn’t speak using the British accent she often uses in her roles.
Because the actress grew up in both the U.K and the U.S, she often speaks naturally with an American accent.
Well, this is something that Alec decided to poke some fun at.
After she accepted her award and her American accent was heard, the actor tweeted this: “Switching accents? That sounds… Fascinating.”
It’s important to note that Alec’s joke came just weeks after he defended his wife for often switching between her own Spanish and American accents…
Which many fans found contradictory and arrogant.
Of course, Alec has always fiercly defended his wife…
So much so that the actor took to Twitter to go on a rant about “cancel culture” in regards to his wife’s heritage.
A few months ago, Hilaria’s heritage fell under question when a social media thread pointed out inconsistencies in stories she had told the media about her upbringing.
A number of her childhood peers said she grew up in Boston under the name Hillary Hayward-Thomas, and did not speak with a Spanish accent in those years.
She was also seen in a 2015 clip seemingly forgetting the word “cucumber” in a cooking segment…
Which became a social media focal point as the scandal continued to make headlines.
She told The New York Times of the scandal, “There is not something I’m doing wrong, and I think there is a difference between hiding and creating a boundary.”
“I was born in Boston. I spent time in Boston and in Spain. My family now lives in Spain. I moved to New York when I was nineteen years old and I have lived here ever since. For me, I feel like I have spent ten years sharing that story over and over again. And now it seems like it’s not enough.”
Hilaria more recently apologized on Instagram for misleading her followers, saying on social media:
“The way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained – I should have been more clear and I’m sorry. I’m proud of the way I was raised, and we’re raising our children to share the same love and respect for both.”
Well, the scandal caused a lot of heat online…
Alec also had his say.
“Cancel culture is like a forest fire in constant need of fuel. Functioning objectively. No prejudice. No code. Just destroy. The deserving and the undeserving alike,” he wrote, which is a clear dig at those who have been trying to cancel Hilaria over the recent scandal.
But, now, the star has hit the headlines once again.
As Alec has fatally shot a member of his film crew and injured another while on set.
Baldwin accidentally discharged a prop gun and consequently shot Halyna Hutchins, who was director of photography on set and director, Joel Souza.
Sheriff’s spokesman Juan Rios said that deputies responded at around 2 pm local time after 911 calls came in of a person being shot on set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, Ladbible reports.
Forty-two-year-old, Hutchins was taken airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital but sadly died of her injuries.
Forty-eight-year-old, Souza, was also injured and taken in an ambulance to hospital but has since been released.
Few details about the shooting have been disclosed…
Though one witness has revealed Baldwin’s alleged reaction.
A witness told Showbiz 411 that Baldwin repeatedly asked why he was handed a “hot gun.”
“Hot gun” is a term typically used to describe a gun with real ammunition.
“In all my years, I’ve never been handed a hot gun,” Baldwin also reportedly said.
Production has been halted on the film and police are currently investigating the incident.
This is a developing story.
