Tattoos are becoming more and more commonplace.

It seems basically everyone has some ink these days.

The possibilities are endless!

You can immortalize anything on your body.

But once you're tatted, there's no going back...

So you've got to be sure it's something you can live with forever.

Well, one woman's TikTok has gone viral this week after she shared her poorly timed tattoo with the world...

It's safe to say hindsight is a wonderful thing...

A trend going around TikTok asks people to duet "the dumbest tattoo that you've ever gotten"...

And the Kentucky woman blew the competition out of the water...

Twenty-five-year-old Leah Holland wanted to get the tattoo for 2 years before she finally decided to get it last year.

"Basically I had a friend that said this quote about me," she said. "We were just talking about things that we really admire about the other person, and he said, 'You courageously and radically refuse to wear a mask.'"

She said she's always strived to be herself no matter what and thought the quote was perfect.

She got it done on March 4, 2020. Just 2 days later, Kentucky announced its first case of COVID-19.

Things seemed okay at first, but then anti-maskers became a thing...

"I assumed that we would probably have to wear masks and stuff. I didn't think that the anti-maskers were going to be such a thing," she said.

As Holland isn't anti-mask, she was concerned people would think she was...

"I spent the entire summer wearing cardigans so that could not be misconstrued," she said. "For most of the summer, I was mortified."

So, when she saw the new TikTok trend, she just had to share her story.

TikTok

The TikTok went viral almost instantly.

Her mother, who Holland said doesn't really like her tattoos, has admitted that the whole thing is pretty funny.

TikTok

Her mom even posted a picture of Holland in a mask with her tattoo, jokingly calling her a "hypocrite," then quickly had to explain.

While Holland admits the tattoo hasn't aged well, she thinks "it's hilarious now."

TikTok

"It's just a funny story now. I can laugh about it," she said. "I think it's funny when other people are like, 'I laughed so hard.' I'm laughing about it too!"

"It's part of the thing of realizing that people aren't looking at you as much as you think they are," she said.

"It's not really worth me being self-conscious about it."

Well, that's one way of looking at it! Keep scrolling for more...
