A woman was escorted from Disney World to the gift shop and was ordered to get a new shirt as hers was deemed “inappropriate” by the resort’s staff.
Last week, Alyssa Schueller was visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Florida when she was stopped by staff.
The twenty-two-year-old was then told she would have to be escorted to the nearest gift shop where she would get a free T-Shirt to wear on top of her own because it was “inappropriate” for the park.
Schueller said that the incident occurred after she had already been to Animal Kingdom that morning without any issues with her outfit. It’s when she got to Epcot when she was reprimanded by the staff there for a dress code violation.
She was wearing a black tie top and matching ribbed trousers at the time of the incident.
After posting the video to TikTok, where it has been viewed 3.9 million times, it immediately went viral and the comments poured in.
Some agreed with the staff’s actions, while others asked what the big deal with her clothing was.
On the Disney World website, the park’s dress code is described as guests having to wear “proper attire.”
“The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. Ensuring that the parks are family-friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense.”
They also added that they are entitled to remove anybody that violates these rules by “[exposing] excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment.”
What do you think? Was the outfit a little too much?
