A woman has warned others online after discovering something pretty creepy in her bag following a night out...
TikToker, Sheridan Ellis, was on her way home from celebrating a friend's birthday when she found a "tracker tile" in her purse.
The tracker in question uses Bluetooth to track the whereabouts of whatever you've attached it to, usually used to prevent people from losing their keys.
In this case, it seems someone had a different idea entirely, seemingly placing it in Ellis' bag to keep tabs on her.
As soon as she found the strange object, Ellis removed the battery from the tile, ultimately rendering the tracker useless.
She later decided that the best course of action was to warn others of her recent situation - and her clip instantly went viral, with many women thanking her for sharing the story.
In the video, she says: "Hey, quick storytime/PSA... for what it's worth category.
"This weekend, on Saturday, I went to dinner with a group of friends for this girl's birthday. If you know me I don't normally carry a purse, but on Saturday I did because we had decorations and stuff for the table.
"Anyways, at the end of the night, I'm cleaning my purse out and I find this [holding the tracker tile up] - if you don't know what this is, it's a tile. It's basically a tracker, people put it on their keys and whatnot.
"It's not mine, I don't know how it got in my purse. I immediately took the battery out, don't worry but yeah... check your purses and stay safe out there."
The post has now been watched over 1.1 million times, gaining thousands of comments from concerned TikTokers. She captioned her video: "Check your purses..."
In response to the video, one person wrote: "Set up a sting operation! Put the tile on one of your huge male friend's doorstep and monitor it with their Ring doorbell!"
Another added: "The police can definitely find out who purchased that and who downloaded the app registered to it. Go to the police. That's very scary."
After people tried to reassure Ellis, one person wrote: "Ignore the people saying don't worry. Even if it didn't work, the fact that someone tried is very scary."
