It is time to be spent with family, friends, and loved ones, eat good food, and exchange gifts... Even if it might look a little different this year.

Of course, the decorations play a huge part in the festivities.

There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of spending hours decorating the Christmas tree and hanging up all kinds of festive ornaments in our homes.

From dazzling tree toppers to lights and tinsel galore...

There's nothing like spreading some Christmas magic across your home.

The tree is undoubtedly the main event.

But the outdoor lights strewn across your house are definitely a close second.

They bring cheer to only to your home...

But to your neighbors, too!

People cannot believe what they are seeing.

Minnesota resident, Kim Hunt, recently shared her story.

She and 3 other neighbors reportedly got letters in their mailbox that informed them their Christmas lights were "offensive."

"My simple light display gives me joy when I come home from working on the Covid unit at a local hospital."

"'I think it's sad we can't all appreciate diversity and celebrate traditions of all people," Kim told the Daily Mail.

The letter claimed the lights were offensive to those who don't celebrate Christmas...

As well as insisting that they're a "vulgar" display of wealth.

But it's needless to say, the neighborhood residents weren't having any of it...

Because some of the neighbors have since come together to buy even more Christmas lights for Hunt's home.

Here's the letter that got the whole internet talking.

"I couldn't help but notice your Christmas light display. The idea of twinkling, colorful lights are a reminder of divisions that continue to run through our society, a reminder of systemic biases against our neighbors who don't celebrate Christmas or who can't afford to put up lights of their own."
