The World Record Egg Has Cracked To Reveal Incredible Message

There are many things in our world that don’t really make sense. Often, these abnormalities are found most prominently on social media, where it seems that all of the world’s logic get thrown out of the window. On social media, a famous movie scene can become a hilarious and confusing meme. On social media, something as simple of cooking breakfast can become the most talked about thing on the web. And, of course, sometimes, something as simple as a picture of a lone egg can become the most liked thing on the internet, breaking a previously set world record. Well it seems that that lone egg has not only hatched into a star, but has also actually hatched. And the message inside was incredible.

What is the egg?

The now infamous egg was first posted on Instagram on January 4th. The brain child of Chris Godfrey, a creative agency worker from London.

The egg was created with a point.

And no, we don’t mean the actual point all eggs have on top, we mean that Godfrey had a reason to make such a wonderful joke.

He wanted to see what he could do.

The egg was invented as a retaliation to the record breaking image of Kylie Jenner’s new born daughter.

Godfrey thought an egg could beat that.

Hoping to out do the famous pic, Godfrey posted an image of an egg. Just an egg.

He captioned the picture with this:

“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this ?”

And internet history was made.

Of course the egg did make more likes than Jenner’s pic. Beating her 18 million likes.

That’s some egg.

Yes, it’s just an egg.

But it has 52 million likes!

I guess a lot of people really like eggs. Because that number is insane.

But why an egg?

I bet some of you are questioning Godfrey’s choice of subject. But there’s actually a heartwarming message behind it.

Because the egg is universal.

When speaking to the New York Times, Godfrey had this to say: “An egg has no gender, race or religion. An egg is an egg, it’s universal.”

Maybe we should all view each other as eggs?

It would definitely help.

Since the egg’s success, Godfrey has needed some help.

Since the egg’s fane sky rocketed, Godfrey has had to enlist the help of fellow social media users to manage the egg’s account.

But they’re all friends.

To help him, Godfrey enlisted the help of his two friends Alissa Khan Whelan and CJ Brown.

They also live together.

The trio live together in South London. And I’m sure they have plenty of eggs in their fridge.

However, there has been a change.

For weeks many have wondered if the famous egg would one day hatch.

Who knows what would be inside.

To reveal something wonderful for the world to enjoy.

Well that day has finally come.

Recently the Instagram account uploaded a new video of the egg finally cracking open.

And what was inside was wonderful.

Turns out the egg may have cracked but it’s not gone forever.

Turns out the egg will always be there for you.

Because now the egg is the mascot of it’s own website. Funded by Hulu, the egg had a heart-warming and compassionate message about mental health to convey.

Just check it out for yourself.

Was this worth the wait? Or were you expecting a dragon?
