In recent months, some rather disturbing clips of Yolanda Hadid have surfaced — but now she has hit back at criticism.
“Bella looks painfully thin… this is no way to promote beauty it portrays unhealthy body images its a disgrace… young females look up to this !!!!” one person commented.
But another disagreed, saying, “Haven’t we all had our moments as moms?? I always thought she was a great mom from what I saw. Her girls are very successful models and if she didn’t guide them, someone else would have. Teen girls are going to do what they want no matter what you say anyway.”

Now, Gigi and Bella Hadid are well known for making waves in the fashion industry. The pair started out in the public eye, making cameos in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but soon became runway superstars.
Gigi was the first to begin her career in modeling, starting out on the cover of CR Fashion Book, thanks to Carine Roitfeld. This was then swiftly followed by her appearance in a Tom Ford campaign.
Since then she hasn’t looked back, and now Gigi is ingrained in the industry. So much so, that New York Fashion Week wouldn’t be the same without her.
And it wasn’t long before Bella made a name for herself too. She famously followed her sister onto the stage of New York Fashion Week back in 2014 and was quickly snapped up by fashion magazine Jalouse to shoot her first cover later the same year.
The supermodel duo quickly shot to fame, and have amassed a large following on social media, with fans in awe of their effortless beauty.
However, they have also come under scrutiny over the years, with some criticizing their bodies… Madness!
In an interview with Grazia in 2018, Bella said: “Gigi gets emotional about the criticism. I think she just tries to keep grounded and realizes that it’s just people on the outside talking. Everyone around her loves her and knows who she is. Plus, she always ends up succeeding from those things anyway.”
Gigi has also hit back at critics who “consistently attacked [her] for the shape of her body.”
She wrote on social media in 2017: “No I don’t have the same body type as the other models in the shows. Yes, I want to have a unique walk but I also know I have to improve. You think you can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I’m a hard worker that’s confident in myself.”
Speaking about their work ethic, Gigi told Vogue Australia in 2018: “I’ve always had this big work ethic because my parents came from nothing and I worked hard to honor them.”
“There are so many girls who come [from] all over the world and work their asses off and send money home to their families like my mother did, and I wanted to stand next to them backstage and for them to look at me and respect me.”
She added that she also wants them to “know that it’s never about me trying to overshadow or take their place. So when I started out I wanted to prove myself so badly that sometimes I would overwork myself.”
But through all the ups and downs, the pair keep each other grounded and remain close friends despite working in the cutthroat industry.
And in their recent runway show for Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2022, the sisters certainly turned heads.
They were spotted inside the New York Public Library, which was the venue for the show, looking totally different from their usual glammed-up selves.
They both sported bleached eyebrows and partially shaved heads, with long black locks.
And their fashion get-up was just as unique. Bella could be seen in an oversized ‘bin-bag’ style gown with exaggerated shoulders and long white gloves, while Gigi wore a large pink knitted sweater with platform boots.
Thankfully, they didn’t cut their actual hair for the look, although they can both pull off the style unbelievably well.
It was achieved with a bald cap and wigs, thanks to Makeup artist Noël Jacoboni, who executed all the SFX makeup perfectly, describing the experience as “surreal.”
He took to Instagram to share more about the transformation, writing: “Today was the perfect marriage of my ability to do a bald cap as well as work for one of my favorite designers with some of the top models in the industry.”
Designer Marc Jacobs also took to Instagram to reveal the theme of the show, being “choice.”
He wrote: “Choice. Amidst an ever-changing landscape of resources, unexpected obstacles, and a world feverishly digitizing new standards of reality, my sentiment is unwavering — creativity is essential to living.” Adding: “We share our choices in contrast to the ongoing brutality and ugliness of a world beyond our insulated but not impermeable walls.”
But today, it’s their mom, Yolanda, making headlines — and for all the wrong reasons …
In past clips, Yolanda is seen encouraging her daughters not to eat — despite them feeling “weak.”
She also suggested they should snack on a couple of almonds.
But in response to these controversial clips, Yolanda has uploaded a parody TikTok.
In the video, she is seen eating from an enormous bowl of almonds, while joking she is the “worst mom ever.”
