It’s official guys!
Netflix’s hit show, You, has already been renewed for a 4th season, despite the third not even being released on the platform yet…
I’ve got some good news for Joe Golderg fans…
Netflix has officially confirmed that its thrilling series starring Penn Badgley has already been renewed for a 4th season, despite season 3 not even premiering on the streaming platform yet.
On Wednesday, the news was announced on Twitter along with an unsettling teaser.
“Hello, you. For you, YOU has been renewed for Season 4! See you soon,” the caption read.
The trailer is only fifty-seven seconds long, but boy does it pack a punch.
The short clip replays the past few years of Joe Goldberg’s life, reminiscing about all the memories he had with his lovers (or victims, depending on which way you want to look at it.) It focuses mainly on Guinevere Beck, how the couple met, how Joe became obsessed with her, and then her tragic end. Slowly, that progresses onto his other love interests in a series of memories, including season 2’s Love Quinn and Candace Stone before the screen finally settles on a raging Joe Goldberg.
Not to mention, each shot changes every time the words “for you” are said so you have to be quick to figure out what’s going on. It’s quite creepy, but also thrilling. Is that weird?
So what can we look forward to in season 4?
While the cast members have not yet been confirmed, we do know that Penn Badgley will be starring in it and that’s pretty much all we need, right? I mean, it would be nice for everyone else to also come back, but half of them are dead so I’m not really holding my breath.
Other than that, no storyline details have been confirmed as of yet. However, Netflix did say that the season will be based on the novels You and Hidden Bodies, written by Caroline Kepnes.
The latter title probably gives it all away but for now, we’re pretty much in the dark with the finer details.
The news comes after it was announced that season 3 is set to hit our screens on October 15th.
So we’ve only got 2 days left until we’re reunited with our favorite toxic psychopath.
I don’t know about you, but I’m excited as f***.
