Tor Eckhoff, who was better known by his YouTube username Apetor, has tragically passed away.

He was just 57 years old.

But there’s another element that makes this story slightly strange.

Just days before, to celebrate his birthday, he had posted a video with the title, I am not dead, I am 57 today.”

The slightly odd video was actgually a longstanding tradition.

In every year of his content-creating life, Tor had posted a video celebrating the fact he was not dead.

However, following this year’s fateful upload, he suffered a tragic accident.

Police were called to a scene in Jakobs Dam outside Kongsberg, Norway.

They were called to the scene when a witness heard yelling.

It’s believed Tor fell through the ice at the Dam while filming a new video.

Tor was rushed from the scene to a nearby hospital.

But Norwegian source Verdens Gang reports Tor was pronounced dead on Saturday, November 27th.

Tove Skjerven told the news outlet: “We miss him terribly much, and it is a loss that will never let go.”

“He has been everything to me and to our son,” he said, as per Lad Bible.

“My dearest Tor. Friday the 26th. November was just a regular Friday,” they continued.

“You went to the water near Kongsberg, and you looked forward to skating. You should also film a little, which you should use in a video on YouTube. You messaged me when you arrived, with pictures of yourself and the water. Nice relationship, you wrote.”

“But something went horribly wrong. You ended up in the ice water, and this time you didn’t get back up, like you did so many times before!”

“In the end, you were picked up by divers and sent by air ambulance to Ullevål hospital.”

“They did everything they could to bring you back to life, but you had been underwater for too long.”

“On Saturday night John and I were with you when the doctors in the hospital turned off all the machines that kept your body going.

“Thank you for all you have been to Johannes and me. We have endless good memories, and we miss you so indescribable!”

Rest in peace to this much-loved man, and our thoughts are with his family.
