Young Saudi Arabian men artistically mounting their cars on piles of stone
There is a strange but fascinating art-form trending in Saudi Arabia right now — Immobilizing one’s vehicle atop strategically stacked piles of rocks and brick…

From Arab News…
The art of ‘tahjir’ or raising a car on a platform of stones is a major tourist attraction in Halbah, a town near the Asir Provincial Park.
Tahjir involves creatively mounting cars of various sizes on rock platforms in a particular style. In some cases tires are replaced with stones….
It can take between four to seven hours to mount a car on a platform. For larger vehicles, it can take up to 10 hours.

Muhammad Al-Taihani, a young man from a neighboring province comes to practice his art in Halbah every year. “The number of young people becoming involved is increasing every year,” he said.

“What should we do?”
“I don’t know…”
“Hey! I have an idea! Let’s stack our cars on rocks!”
“You read my mind!”
There are rednecks in every culture.
I don’t understand….
What a waste of energy.
Completely unrelated, but the guy in the first picture looks like Orlando Bloom. Poor bloke.
You’re right! No wonder I kept staring at him.
Great now their cars are getting stoned too!…
Very odd considering their cars usually have the “Saudi wrap” – they leave the plastic on the seats and sometimes even the dealer prices on the window to show they have a new car. In one extreme case a guy still had the price on his new eye glasses!
To what end?
Well, the USA had Cadillac Ranch out by Amarillo, Texas. New Mexico has low, slow riders. Anything done with a car or truck that is not speeding down a highway is good for people and the planet.
Well we heard they were running out of oil.
Modern glasses are typically supported by pads on the bridge of the nose and by temple arms (sides) placed over the ears. CR-39 lenses are the most common plastic lenses due to their low weight, high scratch resistance, low dispersion, and low transparency to ultraviolet and infrared radiation.-..
