It seems NFL star Russell Wilson foots a hefty bill when it comes to keeping in shape, and there’s a very specific reason for this…

In a new and revealing interview, the star went into detail about his strict workout and recovery routine as well as what life has been like away from the field.

And he’s showing no signs of stopping any time soon.

After beating out Matt Flynn, Wilson ended up having a successful debut season, tying Peyton Manning’s then-record for most passing touchdowns by a rookie – going on to be named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.

And has gone on to lead his team to victory over the Denver Broncos in 2014.

But, what about when he’s not on the field?

Well, the sporting star shares daughter Sienna, 3, and son Win, 3 months, with singer Ciara.

And despite not being home too often during the season, Ciara says her husband tries his best. “It is a balancing act. … We have to remember that teamwork is part of it and communicate with your partner,” Ciara during a September interview with Tamron Hall. “When you have tough moments, communicate. Russ and I, we talk about everything. We always say communication rules the nation, so we have an open line.”

And this week, he left fans shocked after admitting how much he spends on keeping fit and healthy.

And it seems the quarterback isn’t shy about spending a penny or 2 on his body.

The star responded: “I have a whole performance team. I got a whole group.”

“I have a full-time trainer that travels with me everywhere [and] works with [my wife] Ciara too. … I have a full-time mobile person that’s working on me, that’s making sure I’m moving the right way and everything else. I have a full-time massage person [and] 2 chefs.”

And forked out for several spendy ventures including the likes of hyperbaric chambers, physical therapy, and personal training.

“I get treatment every day. … I’m in between 363 and 365 [days a year],” he explained.

Though this depends on his schedule. Now that’s dedication…

“I’m trying to play until I’m forty-five at least, so for me, my mentality is that I’m going to leave it all on the field and do everything I can [to] take care of myself.”

In total, the star revealed he spends around $1 million each year — over $2,500 per day — to keep himself in peak physical shape.
