But The Witcher is proving to be a huge frontrunner in the genre, and it’s not hard to see why.

Complete with humans, elves, witches, gnomes, and monsters, Netflix’s fantasy offering truly looks to be a visual spectacle.

And there’s one specific aspect of the show that fans are saying completely trumps Game of Thrones. Keep scrolling to find out.

The show primarily centers on protagonist Geralt of Rivia.

He’s a monster hunter known as, you guessed it, a Witcher who travels the countryside slaying various spine-chilling beasts. Just like Game of Thrones, The Witcher is also based on a bestselling novella.

Though there are some differences in Netflix’s adaption that slightly stray from the books.

For the show, the story will also look at Princess Ciri and Yennefer of Vengerberg’s arcs.

Unbelievably, the show has already enjoyed three seasons …

The medieval extravaganza has already been lavished with praise by critics who had the chance to view the show early before its global debut.

But there’s one thing that people are saying makes it way better than Game of Thrones

There’s no denying that Game of Thrones reigns supreme in the fantasy genre, but it looks like The Witcher may be giving it a run for its money, with viewers saying the battle scenes are putting GOT to shame.

Some are going as far as to say the fight scenes are making similar scenes in Game of Thrones look “awful.”

“The fight scenes in The Witcher make Game Of Thrones fight scenes look like 2 drunks fighting outside a bar,” wrote one user. “The fight choreography is insane. First fight Geralt gets into is beautifully savage. The blend of swordplay and Geralt’s signs is perfection,” gushed another.

The captivating performance from the series’ leading star, Henry Cavill, has also been catching the eye of fans.

After all, executing those massive fight scenes in that huge amour costume must have been pretty physically challenging.

Cavill’s looks have also been praised!

“Hair and makeup stuff has become an essential component of becoming the character in the morning,” he confessed to Polygon

And that’s not all …

“One, because it takes so damn long, and two, it’s such a particular look. I wanted to make sure Geralt looked like a witcher who was a badass and still remained raw.”

The star went to extreme lengths during filming…

The actor, who wore a weathered suit of armor and a long silver wig during filming, is said to have taken it all so seriously that he even “made breakfast” and slept in it. Yep, really.
The Witcher producer, Lauren Schmidt, explained: “He wanted, for instance, for the armor to look like it had been worn for years and years. So, he made breakfast in it and he would sleep in it.”

“We were like ‘you don’t have to do that by the way’, but he’s that invested in embodying his character.

“It was important to him. It’s one of the reasons why Henry is such an important member of our team.”

And it seems Cavill got very attached to his costume…

So much so, that he admitted he took it home with him when filming concluded.
“I took it all home, yeah. It’s not so easy to put on. And it took two hours of hair and make-up every day, so that’s just sitting at home looking cool,” he told NME

Tim Aslam, told Polygon that during filming Cavill’s “muscles wore down the leather at such an alarming rate” that replacements were “near-constantly” being made to ensure he was camera-ready. Well, we suppose that’s a nice problem to have on all accounts.

But this weekend, fans of The Witcher have been hit with some bad news…

Henry Cavill is stepping down from his role!

And is set to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth …

“Henry Cavill leaving the witcher after begging Netflix for the role and being the biggest fan of the franchise is making the report that the writers hate the books seem more and more plausible. They chased that man away from the series. This is sick,” wrote one fan.

“I need someone from The Witcher team to leak everything I am simply too nosy what kind of shit do you have to pull to make a LEAD ACTOR leave,” said another.

Another joked: “the CW needs to teach Netflix a few things about how to keep an actor hostage I fear.”

“Hey everyone did you have ‘Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher s4’ in your 2022 bingo because I didn’t,” laughed a fourth.

“Netflix is trying to convince the Witcher fan base that Liam Hemsworth is a good replacement for Henry Cavill,” a fan savagely wrote.

“They couldn’t even get the better Hemsworth brother that’s how deep in shit The Witcher production is remember that folks,” another opined.

Cavill offered an official statement on the matter.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

“Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character,” Hemsworth said.

“I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

It’s believed Cavill is leaving The Wotcher to reprise his role as Superman.
